what is this hose and how do i fix it??
i changed my oil filter housing gasket this weekend. in the process to get one of the bolts off, I removed this hose. when I pulled it off, the part that bolts the motor appeared to have a crack in it. so:
1st - what is this called? 2nd- does anyone have experience with replacing this hose? can I just get the piece at the end of the hose that bolts to the motor or do I have to buy the whole hose? Thank you, thank you, thank you for your help!!!

I think that hose goes from your t-stat to the cylinder head. Trace it to be sure. Believe it's this part
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-330...w_All/ES25110/ Not sure on the details of your car (n51 or n52), so make sure it actually fits before you order, but looks like thats the hose and that you'll have to replace the whole thing. Unless you have a plastic welder, then you can just fix what you got. Or maybe just use an epoxy adhesive. Honestly though, for under $50 and if I didn't have a really good plastic welder, I'd just get a whole new hose. |

It goes to the t-stat. They crack all the time, kinda a pita to change but not that big of a deal. Make sure to lube up the the new one so it'll just slide in. Good luck.
