Heated Seat Fail
Hi,
My wife's 2009 128i (sport seats) driver side heated seat recently stopped working. All other electronics on the seat work fine. Passenger seat also works perfectly. When you push the button, the three lights light up and immediately turn off. A click can be heard from under the seat. Intermittently I can get it to work by pressing the button over and over. Based on what Internet research I've done, this isn't an uncommon problem however I've yet to read about a fix. Any feedback or direction would be appreciated as BMW wants more than $1500+ to replace the whole lower section of the seat. Sadly the car just came out of warranty and local dealers are refusing to consider a good will fix. Cheers |

Unfortunately, the fix is to replace the seat cover. The heating grid either has a break in the circuit or a high resistance spot.
Where are you located if you don't mind me asking? |
