Pressure washer use

Anyone use a pressure washer on OE rims....my 07 E90 is on original rims and even with Sonax there is a stain of sorts left behind. Would love to know if anyone has used a pressure washer to get the baked on stuff off without damage.

If your using sonax and a wheel brush correctly it should pull any and all contaminants off. But pressure washer is always safe unless your using a tip that doesn't fan out the water.

Also there's a possibility that the coating the wheels is failing

Should be okay- as mentioned by Hulk you might want to look into the finish on your wheels beforehand, so you're not flaking it off in the process. Additionally, in the vein of cleaning the exterior of the car, I hear Iron X does wonders, but it smells like hell:

Oh, in case it bears any mentioning, do not use a pressure washer in your engine bay- that's a big no-no
