So I bought a 330i badge for my 328xiT. I hate BMW and their naming system but wanted to do the 3-stage manifold conversion before I did.
Now I'm not sure when it will happen. Since it's a 3.0 N52 would it be appropriate? I'm not the guy to badge ///M or do a Persian Conversion. |

My rule of thumb; Its cool if it's on your title. If you don't like what you have, debadge FTW!

That's the dumbest crap I have heard in a while on this forum. You can put the badge on if you do the 3 stage the ECU the bigger brakes the chrome trim the exhaust tips the xenons with adaptive headlights the zcp suspension the wheels.

What would be appropriate? Your 328 badge since that's what the car is. Debadging is also an option.

I don't want to mimic an E90 330i, just want it to reflect displacement. Already have xenon, M Sport, 219M wheels, and BMW PE. It's a nice car. Have the parts for the swap except the manifold and the tune...almost there LOL. Would rather use the grand on my M3 than my DD. Quote:
Seriously. How does that make any more sense? That should be a 330tii or something. See what I mean? BMW is calling the 335i a 340i for the LCI, and calling the 328i a 330i even though it's a 2.0T...sheesh. |

I been into BMWs for over a decade. Owned more than dozen from various M5s M3s 3 series 7s X series and many more.
Just a few pics... since you uploaded a pic of your e34 I'll show you my old one. So before you say anything I don't believe in posing in anything thats a genuine E34 M5 with 1 out 3 ever made interior. You don't need to welcome me I been owning my e90 since 2005 the earliest build 330i. I been on here 4 years more than you. Welcome to the forum bud. Nice M5, seriously. Sterling silver is really uncommon.
How about my sad old Mauritius I parted? 1 of 14. Miss my Z4 Coupe: See a pattern? This is being restored: 323iT manual One-owner 327e (screwing with you) grey-market bought new: Wasn't saying I'm old-balls on this forum (like, who cares?) but this isn't my first BMW and probably not my last. The nonsensical naming is a real quibble. The fact that you can't understand why a 3.0L NA 3-series shouldn't be called a 330i is beyond me. |

I don't know where the line is. At Katie's Cars and Coffee here in Great Falls, VA, there was a guy with an early E70 4.8i ZSP. What looked to be Plastidip wheels, badges, and a roof box. He had the ///M badge next to the X5, I made a comment to my GF, and the guy heard it. He was saying it's a custom turbo and smoked Ferraris on the highway.
LOL I don't want to be that guy. Haha 15k+ post on Bf.C since 2005 but who's counting? I'm small fish, only have the unique BMWs but none of the heavy-hitters like E39 M5...don't have the cash to play in that realm. |

I don't get this response and don't see how it's relevant. My point is that with BMW nomenclature, my car would be a 330i and that's how I want to badge it. The 2006 330i is the only thing holding me back. |

We're on the same page, and that's hilarious. Part of me really wants to do it as I have the badge and since people are up in arms about it here, I'll post pics and run. It bothers me that my next car, an F31 328xdT, isn't badged a 320d. It's THE EXACT FUCKING CAR overseas as a 320d, it's a 2.0 turbodiesel, and BMW thinks that Americans are so insecure over small numbers (glass house, here we come) that they artificially pump up the numbers. Insane. |
