Difficult choice: W205 C63 or M3
ok so I've never really been a fan of the new m3/m4. i drive a e90 335i N55 and before that i had a e92 335i n54. Both cars have given me problems, so i decided to go to the dark side...
I placed a deposit for this... Its the 2015 Mercedes C63... so now I'm stuck. I thought id never want a BMW again but the M4 is just beautiful. I hate the new I6 Twin though. It sounds like a lawnmower. The new C63 has a twin turbo v8. HELPPPP what should i do?? Last edited by amanuuh; 08-03-2014 at 10:04 AM.. |

Depends what you're looking for in a car. If you want a DD that is also capable of afternoon/weekend canyon runs and track days, go with the ///M. If you merely want a luxury car that will go like a bat out of hell in a straight line but will have body roll and massive oversteer in a corner, go with the AMG.
As a side note I am a previous e90 owner and a current AMG owner (brief hiatus as I waited for the f80). I have an order placed for an F80 with build week 41 : . The wait is agonizing. But I'm still very excited Follow your heart. I enjoy the AMG and it hauls ass, but there isn't a day that I don't miss hucking the m3 into a corner and feeling the precision handling that the engineers at M work so hard towards. To me AMG is more of a German muscle car manufacturer. Very luxurious obviously, but still. |

Have you actually heard an M4 in person or given one a test drive yet? The car sounds amazing in person. Go see one, drive it. If that doesn't convince you that the M4 is the car for you, get the W205 C63. That's going to be an amazing car too. |

Don't rule out the M4's engine until you actually test drive one. It might surprise you.

Oh god, not ANOTHER thread with someone wanting "the forum" to talk them into an M3 / M4.
Seriously, if you can't make up your mind yourself, we're not going to be able to help you. |

Mercedes is also launching the new C-class in the US in only 4matic and adding the rwd versions in Q1 next year. Their reasoning is that 330hp in the C400 is too much power for just the rear wheels. That leads me to think that the next C63 is going to be AWD only.

I owned the previous c63 but sold it after a month and bought the e90 m3
the biggest gripe I had with the car was the gearbox mb really need to go back to the drawing board regarding that mct box that combined with the bad handling and cheap interior has put me off mb the only good thing about the car is the sound I think that's the only thing mb got going for themselves and don't even talk about the gas mileage u get in that car sorry but it does not do it for me |

i am not sure what your problem is, the new c63 is a total unknown it could blow away the m3/4 in every cat. but there is nothing wrong with trying something new for a change of pace

I appreciate a good interior, but I don't need a bentley, i.e. in the M4 the I think the standard leather is fine - to me everything looks and feels high quality (but I ordered full). Not so with the Benzs I've been in lately. They have carbon fiber and leather etc but it all feels super cheap to me - like wood veneer or something. The buttons move around a little bit, the leather feels plastic-y, and the build quality seems questionable. I'm with you on the M4 engine, but only on paper as I've not driven it, and I'm hopeful that the mid-pipe work out there in a video is an example of a sound fix. Add it all up and, for me, the equation doesn't balance: the benz would need a dual clutch and a much upgraded interior. Even so I'm probably giving up dynamics in the twisties over the M4, and the performance may be similar. Unless you're in love with the MB brand there's not enough there to justify the risk IMO. |

Go M4, imho the new c63 is ugly, plus new interior is bleh. i have some family members with the 2013 c63, 2014 e63, and another c63 and i can tell you that this new one is not going to be something special, but the new m3/m4 is.

+1 If you heard the engine only on youtube you will be surprised when you hear it in person. I got my car three weeks ago and I have already had two people walk up to me to tell me how much they like the way the engine sounds. Sports + all the way!
