Tire and Rim warranty

Is anyone getting the tire and rim warranty for their M3 or M4? If you are what kind of price quotes are you getting? Thanks

I got one. I didn't realize it was negotiable and I paid $1400 for 5yrs. I already picked a nail the other day so it's starting to pay off.

I think it pays for itself especially if you damaged a wheel

I will be getting it even with aftermarket wheels as it still covers the tires. On my e90 I used it three times.

Even though I'm paying for it, I hope to not have to use at all on this car. Stranded half way to Vegas trying to find a proper tire for the rest of the trip is no fun either way. And BMW roadside will only tow to the closest dealer which in that case was riverside. I was on the Mfest drive and there was no way I was going to riverside and missing the whole trip because of a blown tire.

Found a tire that fit at some shady tire shop and they reimbursed for a new tire once I found one in Vegas.

Well worth it!

I just got the my car yesterday...I have to place the order today for the tire warranty. My brother in law didn't get it for his F10 M5 and he is has gone through 5 tires already since he had the car. He definitely regretted not getting it.

Not trying to troll here, just curious. So if you use T/W three times on tires, that saves you around 12-1500. So if you negotiate it out to $1400, at best you are looking at a wash.

I did this on my 535, and have not used it once in three years, and about to lease the M3 for three years, just trying to decide if I do it again. The roads in TN are not nearly as crappy as in other areas, or maybe I am just lucky (most likely will live in a tire shop after this post).

Is it not better to just self insure on a lease? Opinions?

This thread should be on the main page under the title: What to Expect While Buying Your M3/M4. This is my first BMW and I did not know the insurance price was negotiable either and I ended up paying full price for the coverage. Probably negates most of the discount off of MSRP I received.

I didn't get it with my E92 and two months into having the car I ran over nails puncturing two large holes in my rear tires. No local tire shop had tires that fit so I HAD to go to the stealership and pay over $1500. I was so pissed I didn't have the insurance then so I definitely got it this time around.

Hmmm. Makes sense. Like I said, I have had the W/T package on my 535, and have had zero issues, so I am tempting fate by typing this.

For the $1500, did you replace all 4 tires, I assume because of wear diff on new?

Would the W/T package replace all four, or only the effected tires?

Are there any BMW FN guys on here?

I think some are missing the idea that this is wheel and tire coverage by focusing on the tire part. I have always bought this coverage and it has paid off. It is like any insurance, however. We have auto insurance, but hope to never use it, but that doesn't makes us not buy it. This is the same thing. I have used it for tires and, on two occasions wheels that were damaged by pot holes. Just one wheel can make the coverage worthwhile. Just my opinion.

I paid around $1500. First time getting the tire/rim insurance but the last several winters have left Cincinnati's road in terrible shape well into springtime. On my S4 I bent 1 rim and bubbled 2 tires last winter so I just wanted the peace of mind of not obsessing over the potholes going forward.

I usually avoid all excess insurance offered but in this case I at least "feel" good about my purchase.

I elected not to get the warranty, my dealer wanted $1,398 for warranty. The roads in San Diego County are not that bad and in the past 32 years of driving I have only had one flat due to parking in a parking lot that had debris from a nearby construction site. However now that I said that I will get a flat. The front tires a Tire Discount are $251 each and the rears are $305 each. They have the front ones in stock at several locations however the rears one are special order only.

The car was still relatively new with maybe 5k miles so I didn't replace the front tires..but the insurance would've have covered them since they weren't damaged.

An absolute must, I went through 8 tires on my e92 in 3 years because of construction zones etc, saved me thousands!

Wish I knew it was negotiable when I picked my m4

Anybody have experience with buying W/T Warranty from a different dealer or outside company after taking delivery?

The BMW Tire & Wheel warranty can only be purchased from the selling dealer and only on the day of delivery. For my 335 I tried to shop around and that was the answer. The policy was underwritten by Safe Guard international.

There was a $750 savings on this through Jan. 3. Did they extend this by any chance?

Op, I got it cause we are in the mid Atlantic states with harsh winters that leaves MaNHOLES after the snow salt. There are many areas in the us with butter smooth road year round. Some people don't ever need the coverage, some need it 2-3 times a year. My thinking is 5 years coverage,, 1 rim and basically u broke even already.. We got a nail 3 weeks after delivery, guess what? $50 deductible and we got a new $370 tire
