Coding for Tire Pressure Monitor?

Any help on this? I changed 3001 RDC_SAFETY to aktiv and confirmed it was saved by exiting the program, restarting and checking the value but the display is the same as before, just -- for the psi and temps and the bottom says "Reading tire pressure values..." or something along those lines. I drove around for a couple miles and could not get it to display any info. I did try pressing reset which didn't seem to do anything either.

What readings did you have before? only pressure?

Do you have the tech package?

I never had any readings, just dashes and it saying it's checking tire pressure. Was it supposed to show the tire pressure even without the coding? Is the coding only to get temp readings also?

I do have the tech pkg.

Scratch that...for some reason it works this morning. Drove about 3.5 miles vs 2.5 miles last night, maybe I didn't drive far enough last night?

Weird thing is that it never showed anything there, it was always just "-- psi", was it supposed to work even without the coding, at least the psi part?

ya before coding shows just PSI... after it adds temperature but you need to drive for 1 or 2 minutes before it starts showing... and i think do an initial reset

If it works properly, it should show --psi/--F when you start the car and the numbers should be shown a few minutes after you start driving. 3miles seem awfully long unless you went onto the highway immediately. Mine usually come on in about 3-4 minutes.

I coded Tire Pressure and Temp in my M235i without nav system and it will not display the readings. I get the labels PSI and Temp but no readings.

you have rubber stems?

you need to drive the car over 30mph or something for a few 100' feet
it will show up

Can confirm that after coding my car (no tech package and rubber stems) and driving following Pikcachu's instructions still not show neither psi or temp.

I guess there is something in the hardware that my car is missing.

if you have rubber stems it will never work.... you don't have the sensors...
you need metal stems to be able to read the temp and psi

Looks like the only requirement for psi and temp are metal stems as it doesn't matter if you have tech pkg or not

I thought we are all having metal stems... Is it due to not having the Tech pkg?
