rotor and pad suggestions
My Indy mechanic just informed me that I am going to need new front brake pads. He also suggests to replace the rotors as well. I am at 42,000 miles and do drive aggressively.
Funny thing is that I brought my car to him for an oil change and inspection and got the car back with the brake and service light on... A little shady. Should I go stock or do any of you have any reasonably priced suggestions. |

Use EBC red stuff or even yellow if you are going to track days occasionally ...Improved braking and no squealing ,ATE power rotors to combine with that

I'm running Mahle rotors and Stoptech pads, so far the car seems to stop just fine around town. Haven't had a chance to take these on the track yet. Only complaint is that the stoptech pads dust more than the OEM, though my OEM pads (ATE brand) seemed like a factory freak that hardly ever dusted.

I have Zimmerman rotors all around, OEM pads up front and Pagid Reds in the rear. Very happy with the setup (I don't track my car...yet) and it was fairly affordable.

Wearever brand from Advance Auto Parts. Worth a shot, and if you're happy with their performance you can get replacements free as they're lifetime warrantied. $19.99 for ceramic pads.... (You asked for reasonably priced...)

Probably gonna go with the zimmerman z coated fronts with oem pads... Coming from an sti with brembos I would say that I like the e92 stock brakes a lot better for street use.

For my aggressive drivers I usually suggest going with Hawk HPS pads or EBC RedStuffs. Both are going to be a performance upgrade over the stock pads.
For rotors if you're anywhere near the minimum thickness I'd go ahead and replace them. When doing pads rotors are just another minute or three worth of work. SaviorXi - awesome set up! -James |
