CCB Replacment

Just heard from my dealer that BMW will replace the CCB pads. They were waffling on whether or not they would. The decision is yes, they will replace pads. They also stated that the rotors are lifetime and will not need to be replaced track time or not. Good news.

BMW will replace pads as part of their no-cost service plan?

Does anybody know how the cost of the CCB pads compare to that of steel?

I seriously doubt the CCB will be "lifetime" with track use. IMO, with serious track use, they will reach their minimum weight quite quickly and will need to be replaced.

I guess time will tell.

Did you spec CCB's on your YMB coupe?

The first comment when they were released was that they would not replace as part of their included maintenance plan, only the regular brakes.

The OP said they would replace them but never said they were going to be free...

This is new to me! The dealer in Chapel Hill NC stated that as part of the 4yr/50K maintenance plan pads are NOT covered. I won't give stock into this new claim until my Stealer has documentation telling them what to do.

My info is as recent as last saturday 6/21 when I closed out on my car financing and they were trying to upsell me on warranties and shit.

It's going to suck hardcore if CCB owners are misinformed, and the pads aren't covered.

BMW rep was saying the rotors "should" last a lifetime. No guarantee. He re-worded it after I said "guarantee?"

BMW will replace the CCB pads as part of their free maintenance program. They're anticipating the CCB pads to last 7 years with occasional track usage and 3-4 with heavy track usage.

So what's that tell you?

3-4 years (YEARS!) with heavy track usage! Really!

I would never have guessed.

I just posted in another thread that it states in the Warranty Booklet that it is NOT covered under maintenance plan. Here is the link to the photo from the booklet:

The BMW representative stated specifically that they had just made the decision that day to cover the CCB pads, so your resource is outdated and incorrect. Talk to your BMW area representative.

if you watch a certain video with the m3/4 on the track and listen to the bmw racing instructor he states that the ccb brake rotors on their track cars are only having to be replaced every 30 days instead of daily. so significant improvement but lifetime?doubtful, even brembo states with daily use only, 300k kilometers for rotors or 185k miles roughly.
