List of Features code-able on F80/F82 M3/M4

There are a long list of features that we can enable for our new cars. I don't know most of them, but I want to know about them all and decide what I would want to enable or disable on my car.

Could we use this thread to build up a list of code-able features for our F80/F82 M3/M4 cars? Please post below and I will compile and put it on the second post of this thread.

I need someone with an ///M3 or ///M4 F80/F82 and an ENET cable to pull me a copy of the SVT and CAFD files ... once I have a chance to review these, I will give you a full list of what I see can be altered through coding, as well as a cheat sheet with the values necessary to be altered to make said changes.

If someone has taken delivery already of an F80/F82 ... please e-mail or txt me ... and we can get this going.

Ok, Ive been watching Pillpushers threads, but was still unsure if I would do some coding, and now after seeing this list it is a must. I think I would do 75% of whats listed there!

Pill, Ill either be buying your cable or making one before I get my car. Ill be in touch with you about some questions I have that will determine if I decide to go at it myself, or do a remote session with you.

Thanks ... Not everything here applies to the 3er ... Not 100% sure until I comb through the cafd files ... But I will provide a final list after review .... Still need a donor for the cafd files ... Who's taken delivery and has an enet cable?

I'll try to get my coding setup done ASAP! Working on it. Just need some time to play with my laptop - I was running in a VM and decided I'd just go Native windows 7.

I'm picking up my car in Munich on Tuesday morning and I'm bring the cable I bought from you. If I can get access to a decent wifi signal I'd be willing to help you out, but cannot make any promises. We'll see how my internet is.

Damn!! I didn't know that all of that could be done.

Sorry for the ignorance but is the dealer able to detect these changes when you take it in for service and could they somehow void your warranty?

Also is there any chance you can screw up other things with coding? I wouldn't like to brick my car. Again sorry for the ignorance on this subject.

ok ... don't temp me ... or yourself for that matter ... we'll be coding all sorts of fun on your new beast in a matter of minutes!

seriously ... if you have some down time with a good wifi signal when you are not enjoying europe or drooling over your new car ... let me know and we'll get to coding.

Do you have my cell # (iMessage)? if not ... e-mail me: *************************

Do you have the software installed and all ready to go? If you want me to take a look at it for you ahead of time I can.

Yes, and I'm sure they could care less ... many of us bring it in all the time, for many years now, and they don't care that things that are non-US-spec are turned on/off.

I don't see how they could prove that the coding changes are ground for voiding the warranty. What coding does is simply use BMW's ESYS software to change pre-defined settings (already set in the ECUs by BMW) to operate at a feature that is not allowed/set for the market that your vehicle was delivered in, however is available in another part of the world.

There is a 0.01% chance that if you follow all of the directions to a "t" that you could possibly "brick" an ECU ... however the process for the F-Chassis vehicles is so much more simple than on the E-Chassis BMWs that it is almost impossible.

As long as you do not hit the button that says "Code Default Values" in ESYS ... you should be fine ... however I guarantee nothing unless I'm doing it myself, and even then ... I'm not charging you for my services/time ... so it's all at YOUR own Risk ... but, yea ... the slightest chance in the world, maybe, that something could get screwed up.

Thanks for educating me on this. Mine is to arrive sometime in August. Definitely will be doing this. Can you do this remotely? Or do I need to pay for a plane ticket to PR? Thanks again!!!
