Potential Issue from Adjustable Suspension?
Well I would love the opinion of those more familiar with these types of setups, and perhaps even people who have already taken ownership (my M3 arrives in a few weeks)
I was wondering, with just my limited structural and suspension knowledge, a fixed (passive) suspension is going to provide a more consistent and possibly longer lasting setup that an adjustable set up, strictly generally speaking, simply due to the fact there are no moving parts that could potentially cause premature wear or other issues you might find with adjustable. So with that, does anyone know what the typical life/duration of these adjustable setups are? And if possible, does anyone have any recommendations as to an ideal setup to utilize from an adjustable, even if the OEM is the ideal setup? Thank you and can't wait to see all of your cars in the near future as well! Chris |

There are no more moving parts with the adaptive suspension. And I don't know the life of a passive vs. adaptive shock. However, you can bet that the adaptive shock, when it comes time to replace is going to cost much more. Having said that, I have EDC on my E92 M3 with 99000 miles on it and have no reason to replace the shocks yet.
Today I test drove a passive suspension equipped M4. It is fantastic. I really see no need, other than to have another button in the cabin, for adaptive shocks on this car. Good luck. Cheers.
