South Cal local head rebuild

Hello gentlemen,

I got the awesome news today. I am going to need a head rebuild. Car is smoking like something else.

To the point: Can any of you recommend a reliable, and experienced local shop? Cost?

Feel free to PM me.

Thank You

Been going there for 2 years.

Here's my review:

the review is dated, they're located in LA not Winnetka anymore.

Here's their thread on the forum:

Try Port Flow Design if you need any valve work. They have a Sunnen machine that is the best money can buy for valve jobs.

Apparently my valve stem seals are leaking. I'd like to just replace them, but i'm being told that if i do that, it's a good idea to get the full rebuild... What machine are you referring to?

Valve stem seals can be replaced without rebuilding the head.

And it's a Newen valve seat machine, not a Sunnen. I remembered wrong. It's essentially the best machine on the market for valve seat work.

Yo Serge,

Where did you take your car to get diagnosed?

I looked at Port Flow Design's facebook page and they look like they do some serious work. I'd probably go there.

Hey,

I took it to Ikonic Garage after a diagnose with a local mechanic. I wish this problem was diagnosed properly from the beginning and i didnt spend $1700 and getting my turbos rebuilt...

Ivan had my car for 3 weeks. Replaced my turbos, and gave me back the car still smoking. No thanks

Try European Motor Works in Arcadia.

John Handal and his team rebuilt my engine with the VAC Stage 3 Head. You can check out the results on my new post.
