Outside looks OK to me, but that interior just screams low quality car company trying to go up-market. Every Hyundai I've ever driven (rental cars mainly) left me feeling uninspired. The Infiniti I owned in the past was sub-par too. Nobody does quality like a German car company - tight tolerances, high quality materials, sportiness, etc. The Japanese may get there at some point... seems like every time they catch up, the Germans are on to the next big thing. But the Koreans have much further to go to even catch the Japanese... let's not even begin comparing their products to Germans.

I have E90 Sedan (328i) as well as 2013 Genesis 3.8

I love E90 for being top notch performance in dynamic part. But then, It has whiney transmission, door tim that scuffed off at 10,000 miles, Road noise, loud engine noise and annoying iDrive.

On the other hand, Genesis may lack on chassis refinement, but has quite and silky smooth 3.8 liter engine, good leather trimmed dash board, quite ride, and easy to operate navi system.

Hyundai has made some crappy cars in past but they came a long way.

I had a chance to ride in 2015 Genesis and it is one amazing car in terms of ride quality and fit and finish of the vehicle. Yet it will not match dynamic performance of my E90.

Question: will it come with a man pedal? If not, then I'm not interested.

So I see Ford Fusion, Audi A4, and a hint of F30. Oh, and some CLS in the hiney. But it looks pretty good.

Wink

I am thinking a clutch

Yea it is trying to follow the success of the Fusion for sure. Hyundai has really changed things around. That is a really nice looking car. I think these car companies that don' already have their trademark look are looking at other designs and incorporating them all into a best of all design.

Wow that design is sleek and nice! I need to see other interior combos though I'm not feeling that one at all.

I must admit, that Hyundai looks nice. My neighbor has the geniuses coupe and the fit and finish is not bad. However, the way it drives is another story. The car is very loud when you start it up, and it really doesn't sound that refined. It drives very hard, and inside the cabin you can hear the engine working hard. The seats are leather, and fabric, but the leather looks cheap. The steering feels like the way F30, but to me feels a little better than the BMW. Overall, for low $20s rear wheel drive the Hyundai isn't bad.

I really like this actually. I test drove a 2013 4.6 sedan before I got my 335i, and I was honestly pretty impressed. I ended up passing only because I decided I didn't need that much space. The interior has as much space as almost a 7 series. But with that test drive I was very surprised by the fit and finish and some of the details they put into the car. Drove very nice, but handled like a boat (as it should of being a huge sedan). ZF transmission was great, and the power was damn good for a tank.

New one looks pretty hot.

^ this

Hyundai and Kia has really impressed me over the past 3 years.

This new Genesis is beautiful.

not a fan of the new look of the genesis, but the platform upgrades are nice. AWD coming paired with that v8, very nice.

what im waiting for is the new genesis coupe. rumors of awd paired with a turbo v6.

Had the 2.0 turbo coupe and it was lackluster until i threw in a good sized turbo.

Really? I tried a 3.8 track package (it was buying that or my 335i), and it was pretty lame compared to my G35... The VK35 kicks it's ass, maybe not on paper, but in practise.

You guys crack me up.......... I see several references to poor interior fit and quality. Have you even sat in one? this is in comparison to BMW? hahahaha My 06 330i with 54k miles has had most of the interior replaced or wrapped due to the rubberized paint peeling off. The plastic panels on my sport seat squeaks and creaks with any slight movement. The entire interior snaps together with plastic clips that break every time you remove a piece of trim. I wouldn't call the interior of the E90 anything spectacular. Rant over

I think the car looks great, hope it handles somewhat decent. The more options on the market the better. Unfortunately, the lack of a 3rd pedal keeps it off my list for a future replacement vehicle when I'm done with the E90.

Though I cant say anything for the quality of the Genesis, I can say that I was extremely impressed in the built quality of the Equus compared to the F01 7 series (730LD). The quality of the leather, the attention to detail along with the controllable rear seating position compared to the F01 was much better. The only thing that felt cheap was the center control button for the rear seats, it felt like a water bottle cap. Other then that it was such a great luxury car, made me feel proud to see that my countrymen manufactured a car that felt much better and comfortable compared to the superior German competitor, when we were making such miserable boxes only a few years ago.

I've seen and sat in these cars and they're quite nice and very luxurious for being a Hyundai. That said though, still not my cup of green tea.

Hyundai is definitely moving in the right direction with their cars in terms of quality and value.
