All BMW's are gay. They are the subaru foresters of the Man's world. Sorry to say it. everytime I see a BMW, I say, yup that is a gay car - except when I see mine of course.

Yeah the BMW is a gay car - most of the members here are men and they like to have meets with each other, showing each other rims and intakes and then some. Then they take pictures of each other's cars.

G37 = gay
People who think G37 is a chick's car = gayer

I think my new definition of a girls car is one which can be purchased with an optional automatic transmission. That could also work for a dolt's car, since you pay a huge premium for it! Just kidding, the DCT has merit. It does make the car quicker. But it costs a fortune to replace and reliability has yet ot be proven, so owners should definitely dump them very quickly before the warranty expires (and go out and buy the more manly E46 M3). Sorry, couldn't resist...
You own a MV Agusta F4 1000!??? I have to say, that you could own a pink mini convertible with auto transmission and fluffy seats and you would still be a man in my book!

On a side note, my friend just pick one of those up in red/black and that thing is a real beast! Have fun with it man, but be careful out there...

Actually I thought BMW stood for Big Mouthed Wa#ker. A bit like Merc stood for Matured Elderly Retired Clumpit and Audi stood for An Uneducated Dribbling Idiot

nothing more gay than to look at car pictures and get a woody. or talk about how the shifter feels, how smooth it goes into the gates. or how stiff the steering and suspension is. or spend hours trying to make the paint shiny. or take pictures at car meets, talk to other gay guys about their cars. or complain the engine being noisy, or the ride is too harsh.

if you dont want to drive a gay car, drive a volvo. everything else is pretty much gay.

With the price of a nicely equipped 335, the G37 is starting to sound very appealing to me. I dont care if the 335 is a little faster.

I totally agree. I mean if you go on to Edmunds and compare the two coupes the BMW is about 8-10 grand more. Is the BMW that much better than the Infinity? I don't know? I know the 335 is faster but how much? Is this an ugly car to you? As far as a chick car, thats just fuck'n stupid.

Agreed. About the same speed, but the G37s has a better interior, and doesn't have the HPFP issues.

And, a N/A G37 with the VQ engine can only be modded for minimal gains; I know, I had 2 of them. A modded G37 with an intake, plenum spacer, exhaust, high-flow or no cats, maybe a chip (although an ECU tuning chip won't do much for the VQ) still isn't nearly enough...and with all those mods on a G37, you've already spent > $2,500. Aside from spending $7k on an F/I tt or S/C'd setup on a G37, it just cannot keep up with a modded BMW 335i (that is already F/I to begin with).

By comparison, an F/I tt 335i can be modded for < $1k to produce a car with >410BHP/440 lb.-ft. TQ that puts the BMW in a different league in terms of power and speed; the kind of power that will blow away any G37 any day of week. I love the Infiniti's, but in terms of potential power, there's just no comparison. However, I agree the interior and electronics (especially the Nav system) of the Infiniti is much nicer than the BMW though.

+1 to everything sflgator said. I only bought it because I knew I could mod to get 370+whp without spending a lot of money.

But I suppose that the way this thread its going... What's for lunch today? I think we're going to do that pizza hut: 2 pizzas and that new desert combo thing they have for $20 bucks.

I mean I really think the Infiniti G37 is a phenomenal "bang for your buck" if you keep it stock...in a stock for stock comparison, the G37 is 8-9/10th's of a BMW 335i for much less $$, imho, but once you mod, there's just no comparison. I still love the Infiniti's...great cars, imho, but as great as the VQ engine is (and it IS a great engine), it's just about tapped out with much less TQ than a stock 335i. I spent some good $$ modding my '04 G35 and maybe got an add'l ~ 10WHP. Like I said before, unless a G37 driver goes F/I (and spends $7k+), he's got nothing on a tuned 335i.

great post. When it all comes down to it I would still probably spend the extra money on the BMW too even though I wouldn't mod it.

Not everyone wants to potentially void their warranty, and mod their car until their engine blows up just because "it's cheaper."

If you wanted to make that argument, then you wasted your money on a 335i because a modded supra will SMOKE a modded 335i, and probably most Ferraris, all for less than $50,000.

this whole modding thing is pretty ridiculous. the guy in the infiniti can take that 8-10k he saved, add another 1 or 2k and buy himself an FI setup. if he knows what he wants to do, he can have any amount of hp desired. i just dont see the point. might as well trade in the 335i when the camaro SS comes along because the "potential" for that is more so and cheaper.
