Well, of course you kept up with him... you've got that special "extra turbo package". Factory option, of course. I was looking into that and the specail "extra intercooler package" and special "eight speed auto", but I just couldn't afford it.

Seriously though, that's pretty good that you stayed with a 6.0 GTO. They're very powerful and their gearing (rear end) is really good compared to ours.

Good run, the 400hp GTO's are very formidable, the GTO's have some nice mods that can be done to them because its basically a older vette engine and drivetrain.

GTO weighs what...3700+ lbs? So a slight disadvantage there, but those ponies should make up for it!

funny, I had one tailgaiting me on the way into my complex yesterday, there was no possible way to race though LOL.... I have not backed down from anyone yet in my 335 however no one through 8000 miles has even tried me.
strange, I thought I would get every joe g35 and their brother wanting a piece..but it has been the opposite....
I'm dying to show everyone the tailpipes.....

How about it's the CURRENT vette engine.

As a former 2005 GTO owner this is the furthest from the truth. My GTO was faster than my 335 stock, and it took some mods for it to keep up with the GTO. Maybe the 2004 GTO would be in that situation. My 05 GTO dyno'd at almost 340/340 rwhp/rwtq. Not to mention it could hook up better.

How's about he's right, it is the "older vette engine". The current vette engine would be the 6.2L LS3, the GTO engine is the older 6.0 LS2 found in the 05-07 Vette or the even older 5.7L LS1 depending on the year of the GTO.

it weighs a little more than that plus with an extra person in the GTO and the difference in driver weights negate any HP advantage of the GTO thus the dead even run.
