The interior materials are slightly lower quality than the m3, but the actual design is subjective.

Also the analog gauges on either side are without a doubt higher quality than the m3. They are fully blacked out until the ignition is switched on and they are a hybrid between digital and analog. There are no markings for the speed or other info on the gauges, everything is backlight. So you can easily switch between mph/kph and the entire speed interval on the gauges changes. The fully digital screen in the middle is also amazing and fully customizable. Sure the actual screen could be better quality but it is light years ahead of the m3 (until the next gen)

Is this a recent change? I've only seen a '16 and it certainly didn't have blacked out gauges or non etched markings. Here's a video of the silly switch from mph to kph, resulting in only 200 kph, or 124mph, not terribly useful for a car like the C7 on the Autobahn.

Looks like the C7 stingray is different than the Z06. My Z06 goes to 220 MPH and the numbering on the gauge and interval between the numbers changes. The Z06 also goes upto 360 km/h. I just assumed that the stingray's also used the same gauge cluster since the rest of the interior is the same. Looks like thats not the case.

Sounds good man. Any mods? Vettes are the nicest sounding American cars, period. GT350 is a nasty second.

Just a corsa x-pipe. This pipe gives it a slightly more exotic sound and i like it. I told myself i wouldn't try to increase the HP of this one. I can barely rev it out as it is since it gets to double the speed limit in a few seconds

Why Grand Sport vs. the lighter (and less expensive) base Vette with Z51 and magnetic ride?

Right, 245/285 tires on the Z51 vs. 285/335 tires on the GS.

Nothing... I've owned a number of M cars, MB, Lexus and a C7 Corvette. Yes, the M cars had a better overall build quality (as they should because they are also more expensive cars) but the difference was not at all meaningful. My C7 looked, subjectively, as nice or nicer inside with full leather and carbon fibre dash. Given it was $18,000 less than my last M4 with full Merino, it's OK some of the buttons were a bit cheaper or there was one or two additional pieces of plastic.

However, it performed better, was more visceral and more fun overall. It also sounded insanely awesome and not even the M performance exhaust would have fixed the sound of the M4 to the same extent.

Don't get me wrong... LOVED my M4. Loved the C7 too and would have zero issues buying another or worrying about build quality. If you asked me which cars I miss the most it would be my C7 and my M2... neither had the same interior build quality of the M4 nor does that fact impact my missing them the most If build quality was the key factor, I'd buy a Lexus LC500 and not a BMW or Corvette.

On a track. It’s actually slightly slower in a straight line due to tire drag. Both are sexy cars.

Here's my past Grand Sport, which I really loved. Coming from German cars, there are still things I appreciated about the interior quality and features, especially the user selectable instrument cluster, HUD, and magnetic ride. Interesting to note that all hoods and roofs are standard carbon fiber, even the base Stringray.

Having never owned a Corvette or convertible before I rarely took off the roof for the first 4 months. But then I did take it off more and more and eventually learned to love this unique feature. My wife can take the carbon roof off easily (stowed in the trunk) since it was lightweight.

All new owners can sign up for a 2-day $1000 driving school at Ron Fellows outside Vegas where they provide lodging, food and a track vehicle for you to drive. My school vehicle was fully loaded with competition seats and fiber rotors. The experience was exceptional, and I have been to Spartanburg and Porsche Experience Center too.

And finally you may want to look at the PDR system option and free Toolbox software from Cogsworth. It is beyond amazing what detailed data and statistics this vehicle recorded when enabled.

Nice GS. I really find having the hard top takes care of my desire to occasionally take the top off while being secure and not worrying about a failing mechanical top. Had that happen once with a VW Eos and was able to dump it before the warranty ended.

Love me some orange RC-F, but the performance is severely lacking so I know I would not be happy with it.

Driving the Stingray today with top off. Perfect day for it. Man the engine just sounds incredible and angry. Can also be a pussycat when you need it. However, I drive it with the exhaust and steering in track mode all the time. Torque for days too.
