Employee of Porsche Dealer MIA with $2.5m Deposits

http://www.thedrive.com/news/23576/a...buyer-deposits

It is an unbelievable world we live in where one is already paying markup and to receive such services. Not just when one is buying a Porsche, but with other brands of various luxury products as well.

Oh for sure, it should fall under a theft policy.

Can’t the insurance company argue champion Porsche was negligent and at least prolong any payments ?

I don't see the issue here, the Dealer is on the hook and pays up. Done.

The guy I bought my 991S from had Shiraaz as his "guy" at the dealer that took care of everything for him. I remembered the name from the TechArt receipts he sent me. Crazy.

Exactly the dealership or Porsche N. A. hires an accounting law firm to find who is owed, and the dealership pays out.

"With more than $2.5 million gone, it's on track to be the largest fraud case in the history of Porsche Cars North America, once the dust has settled. The scale of the fraud makes criminal charges a likely development".

Ya think?!?

I’ve met the guy before and chose not to associate with him because of his appearance. I’m judgemental for a reason.

Porsche will clean this up, even though it shouldn’t fall on them. The entire dealership model is broken anyway, so hopefully this results in putting things in motion...

Anyone else see the article about a Porsche salesman who pocketed $2.5million in deposits on the 911 GT3 & RS? Apparently he forged documents and deposited the money into a bank account.

Not at all. In fact, they're not treating anyone like a victim and are "claiming" to be victims themselves. They're referring everyone to their attorneys.

Not sure about checking online.

For the M2 I gave my local dealer and the Orlando dealer each a certified check for 1k on the dealers name not an individual.

For the Competition I left a 1k personal check at the local dealer (still haven't cashed, they didn't even want to take it from me) and second dealer I did a 1k payment on a card.

This guy to walk with 2.5M is insane!!

It seems he forged documents & opened an account to put the deposits into. There is more to the story as well.
