Creating big meals that are dense in nutrients, but low in calories, is the key when you are trying to stick to a low calorie diet, and trying to create a large calorie deficit. Tonight I made this for dinner, I improvised and came up with this recipe, the entire amount that I cooked below was only 640 calories!

I did a stir fry with:

One can boneless skinless chicken breast
One can spinach
One can artichoke hearts, minced
One small jar pimentos
One white onion minced
Three jalapenos minced
Ten cloves of garlic minced
One can of chopped asparagus
One small can green chilies chopped
One small carton of fresh sliced white mushrooms

This was really good!

That's a lil extreme, you should be able to eat anything you want in moderation and still lose weight with some exercise.

Extreme to eat a few turkey burgers?

It is true that no matter what you eat, you will lose weight, if you create a calorie deficit. However, The reason that it would be a very poor strategy, to eat McDonalds, or other low quality foods, while attempting to create a calorie deficit, is because, those foods are extremely dense in calories, and low in nutrients. When you eat foods that are dense in calories, your portions must be very small, and this will result in constant hunger. It is far better to eat lower calorie foods, because you can eat higher quantities of them and feel full, which will make it much more likely that you maintain a calorie deficit. Your stomach will feel full if it has enough volume in it.

It is very unrealistic to try to exercise the weight off, calorie deficits are much more easily created through diet. Exercise is a very small part of weight loss, contrary to popular belief. Let me give you an example, you would literally have to run a marathon to burn 3,500 calories (the amount of energy needed to burn one lb of fat). Or you could simply eat 700 calories less than your bmr, for five days, and burn the same amount. Which would you rather do?

that guy was also on a calorie limit and picked specific items like salad and grilled chicken to meet his goals. he wasn't chomping down on big macs or anything.

Yep, 640 calories, when you center your meals around plant based foods (other than potatoes, nuts, avocados, etc) you can have far more volume with less calories. If you notice, the most calorie dense ingredient is the chicken, and there was only one small can of it in the entire recipe.

Litos, watch out with that Vanilla Almond Milk. Some of the brands load theirs with sugar and pretend that because it's almond milk, it's healthy.

I always go for the unsweetened almond milk. I mix it in everything, from shakes to scrambled eggs, to whatever. Good stuff!

That sounds pretty good, I love chicken fingers and honey mustard or ranch for a cheat.

Yeah I use honey mustard and blackened ranch. It's so bomb. Not used to eating that salty though so I've been drinking a lot of water to balance it out
