Formula 1 Grand Prix De Monaco 2010

I love back to back race weekends!!!
Such a nice payback for the looooong three weeks break....

As many might point out, Qualifying in Monaco can be a nightmare...especially now we have 24 cars on the grid...

and yah...the return the Schumi, i'm sure the officials will have his "special parking space" reserved....

Be advised, if you are interested in Practice 1 and 2, due to scheduling in Monaco, it will be on Thursday...then "day off" on Friday for other sponsored events such as fashion show as previous years....then Practice 3 and Qualifying on Saturday, and finally Race on Sunday.

I wonder how this year's LWB cars handle Monaco's tight confines...

I guess there's a lot to do on the setup part, changing the camber, steering ratios, and even going "slower"....but major setup will be ride height, because of the normal road "bumps"....and heavy fuel load, the cars will raised so high its like a 4x4...

Monaco should be a test for RBR for their mechanical setup...since the average speed is "slower", that means the aerodynamic effects on the car is relatively smaller than mechanical effect...

Speaking of Monaco....I just watched Iron Man 2....i love the Monaco scene...seems like they filmed during the 2009 season (wonder when exactly)...since all the Marshalls, barriers, and track sponsors (e.g. Johnnie Walker, Sparco...etc) are so authentic...

I can almost name most of the corners shown in the movie...
(The fight scene should be filmed between Turn 12 and 13...after Tabac and before Swimming Pool, and they had a lot filmed at Casino Square...)....

Well if the cruise-ship class Rolls Royce Phantom can go fast on the track, the 'LWB' F1 cars should not have much problems

It's gonna be really interesting with the new teams trodding around so far off the pace on this track, especially in the first qualifying session and the race. Who knows, maybe they'll inadvertently create some overtaking opportunities acting as a pick.

Those are Diamonds yo!

http://planetf1.com/news/3213/614943...kings-of-bling

Quote:
One of McLaren's key sponsors in diamond specialists Steinmetz have again joined forces with the Woking-based team ahead of Sunday's 78-lap showdown around the streets of the principality.

In previous years McLaren's drivers have had their initials inlaid into their helmets with diamonds, but Steinmetz have opted for a different approach on this occasion.

To celebrate their recent victories in Monaco, Hamilton will have the numbers '08' and Button '09' adorning their steering wheels with diamonds.

"They look absolutely incredible and add a real bit of bling to the cars," said Hamilton.

"I won in 2008 wearing a Steinmetz diamond-studded helmet, so I'm hoping it will bring me luck again this year."

As for Button, he said: "Monaco is one of the most prestigious and important races on the calendar, a race I feel honoured to have won.

"To be racing for McLaren with a diamond-crested steering wheel, created especially for me, is a great honour."
