Saw that on Facebook and I will give the same reply: I rarely want to see a person killed, but in this case, glad to see that asshole dead.

I've never really understood why people would want to do these trophy hunts for an elephant / rhino etc.
Yes, both are dangerous when provoked, but they are not typically what I would consider "predatory" creatures, like a lion, panther, snake, etc. So what is the rush in killing something that is otherwise docile / peaceful? How does it make you any better? If anything, if I saw an elephant head hanging as a trophy, I'm going to think less of you as a person than before. An interesting idea would be to get a list of all the customers of these outfitters and then each country to whom these customers belong monitor them carefully because I'm pretty sure their actions suggest they are unbalanced. Very possibly, they are also guilty of other things (or will be in the future) if this is how they like to spend their time. I would totally be ok with people killing any and all snakes though. Hate them. Don't care if the kind they are killing is endangered or not. |

I used to hunt when I was younger so I know the rush these hunters get and what attracts them to go hunt these animals. I don't know if this guy was evil or just enjoyed the sport. I feel sorry for everyone that suffered/is suffering and for the poor animal.
Please note, I said I used to hunt. I have trouble killing spiders now. |

Some times more than 6 figures is the fee to "hunt" one. They of course don't hunt anything, they track and animal, identify it, then set up a place where they can shoot it. Without that fee, a ranger will just go out and shoot said animal. I believe they even sell the right to dart an animal when relocation or aid is needed. Follow the money. Nothing new really. Also, if you saw someone with an elephant head as a trophy, you probably would be in awe of his car collection or home or jet or..... Cause that shit cost a lot of cash not only to buy the right to shoot but also to have mounted. Talking $20k just for the head.

Ducks here usually take down a few hunters with them every autumn. I root for the ducks every time.
