Considering they're now giving the Z06 an automatic transmission as an option, they're clearly planning to sell a lot more cars than previous generations. So they've accounted that since they'll be selling a lot more, they could afford to still keep the price low. I expect the Z06 to base around $85k with the median price being $93k.

I agree, but I think the price will be around 78k, with the average being 86k. Those carbon brakes are sure to cost a pretty penny and most people wont get getting them.

Dealer markup will only be a factor for the first 60 days or so. Then dealers will get all their allotments and have to actual sell cars to stay in business.

Or are you going to say you meant including sales tax, fees, and dealer markup at launch now? You started off saying there was no way the new Z06 would cost less than a ZR1 because you're getting "the same car", which implies comparing base price to base price, or at least equivalent option levels. Then you said, "I meant a Z06 optioned the way somebody would buy." But you kept to the $120K number for the ZR1, on the low side of its price spectrum, so apparently you didn't intend to apply that "what someone would buy" qualification to the ZR1 as well to keep things fair; I bet if you could find ANY spec of a Z06 that matched the ZR1's BASE price, you'd claim you were right. Hardly a fair and honest comparison. But based on that video, even stacking the deck against the Z06 that way apparently wouldn't pan out.

I admire persistence and conviction as much as the next guy, but seriously man, you're wrong. Saying you'll wait for a window sticker is a total cop-out here since you know nobody's still going to be reading this thread when the Z06 actually launches a year from now.
I couldn't care less about being right. Someone just caught a mistake I made about the guy in the video saying the price, I said it was my bad right away. I honestly hope I am wrong on this one, it puts SRT in the hot seat to be more competitive with the Viper.

What I mean is exactly what I said right from the start. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough for you. I could care less about some magical base price number that doesn't actually exist when you walk into a dealership and try to buy a car. I'm talking about a rough number to represent what you actually pay when the keys are in your possession. Anyone I know that bought a ZR1 was around 120k. So I fully expect this Z06 to be right around the same thing when you walk out of the dealer with it. Hell, it could be topping out at 140k.

It doesn't really matter at this point anyway. They showed us a fully done up car. But then said there will be 3 trim models. So if there is some base car that comes with no aero, and cloth interior, etc. That isn't even reflective of what we have been talking about. So lets just wait to see what hits the floors in 2015 and then feel free to revive this thread at that point and "call me out" or whatever cool people do on the internet nowadays.

I don't understand how you say "my bad" when someone points out the video saying that a maxed out Z06 (i.e. top trim level) will cost less than $100K, and now raise your price prediction from $120K to $140K. You make absolutely no sense.

Yeah that's kind of what I was referring to. With GM making a bit of an upgrade, and BMW taking a slide, they could end up evening out in the interior department.

I will bet you $10,000 right now, I'll scan the check right here on Bimmerpost, that the Z06 will not have a debut price in the $120,000 to $140,000 range in the U.S.

I didn't change anything, wtf are you talking about? I said for all we know this thing could top out at 140k., it wasn't a prediction. Nobody will know until what it's going to be until you can actually build a car on their site or see one at a dealer. I make perfect sense, you just live in kind of world where you have to be right no matter what. I thought you were the one claiming 85k? So you'd be as far off as I was if this thing actually can be had for 100k.

Geezus Christ, you'd think on a car forum of enthusiasts you could have a friendly discussion about cars. Why are you so hell bent on arguing and fighting over something trivial that nobody has the answers to yet? Like wtf do you care what I think the price will be? If you think you're right then good for you, I am not trying to prove you wrong. It is a discussion forum for sharing opinions, I'm sharing mine. Like I said, if you wanna rehash this when there is cars on dealer floors, then go ahead and do a little dance and rub it in my face at that time. Not that I will give any more fucks at that time then I do now.

Why would I make any bets based purely on speculation? And I'm in Canada not the U.S. anyway.

I don't expect you to, but that's kind of the point, the price range you stated is absolutely absurd. That would be a 40% to 50% price increase over the previous Zen 06.

I mean someone could claim "I think the next M5 will cost $250,000", and it would cause a lot of people to scratch their heads.

I predicted a STARTING price of $80-85K, which would appear likely to be correct if a MAXED OUT spec would still be less than $100K. I don't think it will be possible to option a Z06 up to $120K from the factory, never mind $140K. I'm of course talking in US dollars, but since you were talking about a $120K ZR1 earlier, it seems you were too.

But your broader point is well taken.

You don't math so good hey? Fully loaded optioned out Z06 was over 100k, so how is 120k a 40-50% increase?

And actually, if BMW announced they were making a fully redesigned M5 with an extra 150hp, it probably wouldn't be a far off guess at 250k. lol

For anyone looking to lease this or a regular C7 as a second car (or if you simply just don't drive much) they are rolling out a 7.5k annual mileage program exclusively for Corvettes.

I have a feeling that if anything, the C7 generation is going to see an INcrease in average annual mileage simply because they're such a drastic improvement on the daily livability front. People will probably with that they had that option with the C6 and earlier. If I buy one of these (which is looking like a distinct possibility in a few years), I'd consider it a crime if I were only putting 7.5K miles per year on it.

Still, nice find!

When is that happening? The chevy site says there are no leases available for the C7.
