I like this shot for some reason. Me and a buddy of mine went driving around looking for shooting locations and drove by this and had to fire a few shots out... Creeper status

Don't think so. There were lots of college kids standing around (and blocking my path to my parking lot). I think it was some kid who was probably too busy texting to see the ditch.

We had a picnic at the side of the reservoire that's surrounded by the nature preserve where I take a lot of my wildlife shots. In this shot the sun has just set, but there's a sail boat race finishing up in front of the dam and some really nice clouds. Shot with the 5D MkII and my EF 24-105mm f/4L IS:

Dutch angles have a purpose. There's absolutely no need for it in 99.9% of photography. It should serve a purpose to help portray a particular type of subject or the balance of a chosen composition (a car is parked on a 40-degree steep incline and the scene has a lot of parallel and perpendicular elements to COMPLEMENT a dutch angle that puts the car parallel with the edges of a frame, for example).
Tilting the camera to try and make a shot "interesting" is a crutch and used to try to exude some form of creativity that isn't there. It's a gimmick and always misused by the naivety of the novice photographer who has not yet perfected his or her eye for pleasing composition by use of the basic elements of art.

There. I said it.

This is in no way directed at you, Activ. This is just a boiling pot spilling over with rage. Well, not really that much. But it's a problem.

None taken...just wanted to know if that was the phenomenon Rodmeister was talkin' about. BTW that was taken before I knew half the stuff I have learned here and elsewhere in the last year.

Note to self: No tilted pics. No selective coloring. And don't even think about mentioning jewelry.
