A good portion of this season Ferrari had the quicker car. Hamilton skill kept Mercedes close in that period. Lewis is the Quali master. Bottas hasn't been anywhere near Hamilton most weekends. Lately Mercedes updates have outpaced Ferrari.

What would Hamilton do in another car? Put him in the Ferrari from the beginning of the season. I see him in the hunt for the championship at this point, if not leading. Since Monza f*ck up, Vettel has squandered an opportunity. Monza 100% should have been a Ferrari win, instead gaining at minimum 5 points he lost 13 points. What does Vettel do next weekend in Singapore, where Ferrari was supposed to be quickest again. Vettel hits wall in practice, putting them behind for quali. The rest is history.

What would Hamilton do in a middle pack car, outperform his teammate and achieve point finishes the car would normally not get with a non-elite driver. Hamilton first championship, he was not in the dominate car. 2008 McLaren won 6 out of 18 races.

Did Schumacher drive a dominate car, did Senna? Hell, McLeran-Honda won every race but one in 1988. Most dominate car in F1 history.

Interesting that all this Lewis praise is coming right on the heals of one of his most memorable wins. Plus there are those pointing out the mistakes and misfortunes of his opponents almost implying that Lewis is above that sort of thing. Finally there's some trying to make the point that he's some sort of admirable human being.
Let's not overlook...This year he's made the accusation that the red cars were trying to wreck silver cars, forgetting the time Hamilton, who was branded "stupid" by Raikkonen, was handed a 10-place grid penalty for shunting the world champion out of the 2008 Montreal race in a pit-lane collision. Then remember another (2011) Canadian Grand Prix when he was involved in three separate incidents before he was forced to retire. Initially he tagged and spun Mark Webber, then later ran wide as he attempted a pass on Nico Rosberg, before crashing into Button. The accident resulted in Hamilton hitting the wall and puncturing his left rear tire.
Then...He's all but admitted that one season his performance was off because of a chick getting into his head and in another season it was his own teammate that f- - -ked with his mind and as such affected his on track performance. Just a few weeks ago his paranoia had him insinuating the competition had become faster because of "tricks".
Is the guy good? Absolutely. But just the same, for some of us, his retirement from the sport can't come soon enough. I've tried, but he's just not easy to like.

Would love to see max and ham in Mercs and leclerc and vettel in Ferrari, simultaneously (with no team orders of course). At least half of that will happen next season.

I admire you for sticking to your opinion and I'd like to add that more experienced people have said what I posited. As far as an inferior car, the fact that the MP4-24 was only the 5th to 6th best car on the grid in 2009 fits the bill. He won with it when his teammate had no similar success.

Cheers and I hope you have a great day!

Button ran into Hamilton. Review the footage. Watch the interviews. Button admitted as such.

Relationship problems can affect anyone. They do. In his worst season he was 5th in the WDC.

As far as tricks go...everyone is wondering why the Ferraris are slow again AND speculating that whatever was being done has been removed. It was spoken of in the race broadcast quite often over the weekend.

I quite hope you have a driver that you cheer for!
Cheers-mk

As he's done for all but 2 years in his entire racing career. Some people let agenda and hatred get in the way of facts and data but, oh well!

I am enjoying this season and watching history being made each race immensely and a few naysayers won't spoil my fun!

Let's not forget in 2016 he only lost the championship to his teammate, Nico, by a mere 5 points. Lewis was on the podium all but 2 races (vs. Nico's 4 no-shows) and also suffered an additional retirement over Nico due to engine failure in Malaysia. With his consistency that season, the engine failure made the difference. I also feel like Mercedes was favoring Nico over Lewis that season for some reason, as was evidenced by their repeated orders to not push Nico back into 3rd in the last race in Abu Dhabi, which would have also given the championship to Lewis instead of Nico. In that race, Mercedes was saying they were worried about losing 1st to Vettel and Ferrari, but we all know Lewis would have never let that happen in those late stages of the race and with how he was racing up to that point. They wanted to ensure Nico won it, even though Lewis was ending the season on a streak of utter dominance, winning the last 4 of 5 races straight out of that untimely retirement in Malaysia.

He should have won that season too. The dude is an outright beast in Formula 1, and anyone who suggests it was luck or anything other than his own talent and greatness is just plain jealous of his accomplishments in the sport. He's not my favorite driver on the grid, but I'd be a fool to argue that he is not the best. Btw, he'd be on the podium every race still even in a Force India (they have had decent race pace this year!) He's going to win 6 or more championships when it's all said and done.

This is some red neck racing comment. Seems like a purely stubborn refusal to acknowledge his accomplishments.

If it isn't the team, then it's the car, meanwhile if Lewis was loosing, no one would rephrase that to say...
Well it's Lewis, because he has the best car...
Well the team did it's job so it's got to be Lewis who sucks ass...

Bro, the car doesn't drive itself, it isn't a drone. Good drivers like Lewis don't get the seat they have by luck. And good teams don't pick inferior talent just to prove the best car can win. Put me in Hamilton's car and watch me get stomped by the pace car. Lewis can drive, period.

Formula 1 is a competition based on a trilogy of factors, Team, Car and Driver. The most important being the driver.
Lewis is the man, congratulations to him and the fact that he has wound up in the best seat with the best team just shows how he has a good head to make great decisions, of which said decision making allows him to drive well in all conditions.

Look at the decision Ferrari made sending the cars out on wet tires...when the track was dry...MB went with slicks...the weather held for about 8 minutes. By the time Ferrari put on slicks it was raining, MB and Red Bull had already put in the fastest laps of Q3, which yielded Lewis pole....Formula 1 is chess.
MB and their champion driver are Bobby Fischer while Ferrari is fumbling with checkers. Even Red Bull I dare say is making better decisions to help their driver. One hand washes the other.

LOL @ the haters saying it's the car.

Why is Bottas not leading the championship then?

The best drivers will always get the best cars, as they are carefully monitored by the teams. Yes, the car is very important. Nobody for example, will win in a Renault, FI etc. But the better driver will always dominate his team mate.

Hamilton is an exceptional driver, as he has consistently shown over the years. Even Alonso, claimed by some to be the best driver at the moment, could not consistently beat Hamilton.

As I have said numerous times, I am not a fan of him personally, but have enormous respect for him as a racing driver. He is the complete package.

The guy is a boss, there's simply no way to debate that. Yes he has the best car, but except for the one year where Nico beat him he's consistently beat his teammates with the same equipment. He also makes very few to zero errors, and to keep up this level of domination for as long as he has is pretty fantastic.

He also seems to have a great personality and is extremely likable, which certainly can't be said for many at the top of their respective sports.

Lewis has won a race in every F1 season he has competed in.

His 2008 championship was not in the best car.

He has completely humiliated Bottas this year. With two races left Lewis has scored 131 more points(minus 5pt for Russia swap).

probably the champ didnt come the way he wanted by winning race but its great to see him won it.. he won by being incredibly consistent.. just like a real champ.. he has guts to make more..

for Vettel.. for his career he did say something key for himself and his abilities when he moved to Ferrari.. he said something like he was doubting he s abilities before coming to Ferrari.. after Hockenheim seems he started to do the same thing.. doubting.. that hurt him so badly in rest of the season especially in wet.. it can be felt easily how not sure his driving was.. never seen a 4 times world champion falls into such doubts.. 4 time is a big number of being champ.. while F1 had narrow rear wings i wasnt watching that much cause i grew up with Mika Hakkinen and Michael Schumacher.. yeah Hakkinen was my favourite but when you compare 2 times of Hakkinen drives and 4 times of Vettel.. things are not fitting.. i believe if Vettel cant win next year, he ll quit and do things like he says he likes to do staying at home and fixing things.. F1 is really really hard..

I understand and agree with much of what you said. This is the 3rd time that VET has been seen off by another driver in cars of similar performance. This happened with RIC while he was still at RBR before he escaped and was welcomed into the warm embrace of The Scuderia and now, vs the GOAT, Lewi5 Hamilton. I can't see him surviving past next season at Ferrari if this performance, or lack thereof, continues. His wounds are self-inflicted making them exponentially worse. To paraphrase ALO, "His championships are looking even more questionable now."
