Found some helpful posts, but figured I'd ask here too.
Having really bad water leak by the pedals (flooding the floor every time it rains.) I've heard to check a hole under the driver side cabin filter (will be doing that today.) Wondering if worn weather stripping around the windshield could be a culprit too? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks! |

Start with sunroof drain...there is one at the forward corning, left and right side with sunroof open. Run some water in the channel to see if it flows through and out the under end of tube under car. They can get clogged, and sometimes the tube gets detached from the sunroof cassette. If you find water leaking around the A pillar or headliner you will need to pull down that corner of the headliner. Youtube has videos how to do this. You may not need pull the entire headliner , just the front left corner. Remove the handle grab rail, and all sunvisor mounts and the A pillar. Not hard, just take your time, watch all the available videos on youtube and it will work out. I just did this to fix my leak.

This happened to mine, ended up being the vapour seal on the door where the leak was... Actually have done all 4 over the course of time. Funny enough my 2014 x3 just experienced the bad seal symptoms and I will be taking the door panel off shortly to fix.
Easiest tell is if you open the door and bunch of water falls on your feet and the door sill is wet. |
