As much as I enjoy Lamborghini. This is wrong of them to rebadge a current model and call it a Countach. What's even more insulting is to charge/price it astronomicaly as they are.
At the very least, build an entirely new vehicle.

Agreed. Obviously just a tweaked Aventador.

Lambo is free to charge whatever they estimate their clients will pay, but asking $2M for an aventador with a body kit is pushing the envelope.

It's sad to watch these influencers unwilling to say what everyone else can see; Lmabo is squeezing blood from a stone with these iterations of soon to be gone platforms.

Agreed! Needs the legendary jet fighter wing.
It's probably a $85,000 option. 🙄

They will sell every single one of them and in the future these will be worth far more than any current Lamborghini. I don't see the problem at all as it's not like any of us (apologies to the few that may be) are the target demographic that can afford one.

Funny, I feel the same way about the new Supra. But I don't think there's anything wrong or insulting with it, it's just business. Obviously I can't in the Countach's case, but in the Supra's case I just vote with my wallet.

In general though, this nostalgic badge revival the last 5-10 years is getting old when every "new" resurrected nameplate is either half baked or unoriginal. It's like the companies don't understand why we fell in love with the originals in the first place. But money talks. And slapping an old name on a car works.

Never said or imagined they would not sell.

Heck.... There are far more ridiculous and ultra expensive shit that people buy regularly.
I'd probably buy one if I were wealthy too! 😁

What % of hypercars never really get used and are just investments/things-to-look-at?

I can appreciate the original Countach's styling, it's striking sure. But it is not nearly as striking to me, as I always hear people talk about it. Everyone and their mother talks about it being the quintessential "poster car" that "everyone had" in their rooms, or how their "inner kid" is loves the Countach. I don't understand that, it never felt like that to me. Seems like they just had a good marketing campaign back then more then anything.

It cemented mid engine cars as the future for exotics. Hell, it's why we have a mid engine Corvette now. It started the angular design trend that didn't really get broken until the late 80's, early 90's. It was a character in movies. It was all hyperbole and lies, lots of claims that it could do 200 mph, even though I don't think any have officially gone more than about 190mph. Non car people know what it is. It's a legend.
