lol anyways, thinks for info. Would you still do GA if you were coming from Virginia ? THe clubs are a bit expensive when you add in airfare and hotel, plus we are doing 2 extra days for (hopefully) music scene/site seeing

What about getting Main grand stand AND walking around ? Can you do that or have to have "GA" ticket to hit up the hills ?

Thanks

The funny thing about all of this joking around is that for the last race, we started by asking the security people to let us back so my brother didn't have to walk as far on the Thursday before the race. He had a stroke 11 years ago and has a right side deficit. By race day, we had our own escort to get back to the Red Bull pen and my brother had is own security person to help him get around. My brother is a real charmer and never met a stranger in his life. It's absolutely uncanny!!

I had a different experience as I was actually working during the last USGP (taking promo photographs for COTA). I was assigned to walk around the course and take candid shots of attendees, taking shots inside the different VIP tents and taking crowd shots in the stands during the race. The VIP tents are definitely very nice and have a great view of the track (depending on location). All of them had food and beverage and covered seating areas. IMO, kinda boring, since you see the race from one vantage point at all times. From all the stands, the one I liked the most was turn 15. Great vantage point, the cars have to slow down on the s curve and then accelerate for the straightaway. Great location to take some pics if you have a long lens. Anyway, here are some photos I took during the event.

If you look closely in the car, you can see Mattia Binotto in the passenger seat. USGP, 2019.

I prefer watching events online, but I should attend for at least one day since I'm minutes away from COTA...

IMO, the only way to watch spectator events are on TV, or online.

You miss out on all the electricity in the air at the live event, but you miss out on so much of the racing that you get on TV.

I'm claiming maximum bragging rights with....
I flew (as co-pilot) the Goodyear Blimp over the 24 hour race at Le Mans at dawn.
Not many folks can say that.

Heh it was indeed a long time ago. Not even 100% sure when...sometime in the nineteen eighties.

I barely made the tail end of the 80s, so seems I was correct in my assumption lol
