Enjoyed the vid. Would watch again. Car sounded nice, not sure why folks are bashing Nismo for dong a special one off car which they used to break a record and get bragging rights. That's what it's all about, one way or another.

Arabian runway, surprised it wasn't also an Arab driver. Getting cars sideways on long straight pieces of tarmac is their specialty.

No no, I know it's huge talent from the driver and the setup/build of the car was obviously amazing.

The video could have been better. Like a trailing car, or more angles. More epicness for marketing sake!

I agree with all that it was more commercial and less documentary.

They will spoon feed us additional clips in the coming weeks. Car marketing is at a science now. Soon forums will be debating all the things mentioned here. When that dies down, another clip will surface, especially edited to direct the "narrative" back on track. Wash rinse repeat. Can we say sequel? Every blockbuster movie follows same formula.

It was still an amazing feat and captures their target market precisely. They are in the business to sell cars for a profit. Making cars is only so they have more to sell. Making a one-off is a win win for all of us. I'd rather the one-offs inspire innovation, and not the vanilla upgrades to please the masses.

We have a Nissan Titan pickup, but I am not a fan of Nissan cars. Truck pulls a trailer like there is nothing behind it but it's dated interior engine, etc. Made me rethink my bias. I'm not a drifter though.

I'll give their commercial an "A" from my small business owner perspective. They are focused and don't play around. In it to win it.

As a viewer, I agree, needs more. hopefully I'm right about more to come through different media channels.

Then why dont they attempt this stunt with the stock GTR?
Show what the normal GTR can do?

I'm downplaying the car because trying to market a car with a tuned version that has nothing in common with that has no point imho.
It would be just like for bmw trying to get the nordschleife lap record with a m4 but then with a F1 motor transplanted in that. Then I'd also be saying that they can only get that record because of that. That it would have no meaning.

The GTR was cool until recently but it isn't quite the "supercar slayer" that it used to be. The current GTR wouldn't stand much of a chance against the new crop of supercars such as the 650S and 488GTB. The replacement R36 needs to be a 700-800hp monster to regain the same reputation in today's world.

But those are at least (?) twice as expensive.
That's a bit comparing apples with oranges. I mean where does the koenigsegg regera (or something like that) fit in? There's always a faster car if you spend enough money.
