Does a 991.1 GTS fall into your budget?

70ish... so I doubt it.

Idk if I’m keeping it. I’m on a wait list for both the stingray and z06 and I have a feeling both will arrive around the same time once we find out how many allocations my dealer gets for the first model year z06. If they come at the same time I have no choice but to get rid of the c7z. I literally have no room for all these cars since I have the m3 and the Tesla which needs room to charge too lol

I need a bigger house with more garage space.

I do agree a bit on power. Conditions have to be almost perfect or you can run r888s in warm weather. That’s what I did but the road noise was horrendous. So I put an all season tire and just fuck it, one tire all year round. But I have no traction until 80-90, even in warm weather if you stab the pedal. The car makes a shit ton of torque. Something you’ll get addicted to if you’re not used to it.

I suggest driving the gs first then. Because if you test drive the z06 you won’t think about a gs.
How easy is it to drive the car fast on a mountain pass? Some people, even reviewers, have made them sound like they're completely unmanageable.

FWIW, whatever I get is literally just going down remote tennessee back roads.

From your list I would lean GT350 but yeah would like to get a sense of how real the engine reliability issue really is.

Alternatively, there's the MACH1 which is basically a GT350 with a worked Coyote.

You have to understand it’s torque curve and use it to your advantage. Meaning you never really have to downshift in this car. I have rolled raced a lot of my friends and have beaten them at a low mph in a higher gear.

I was playing with Rob ferreti’s gt3 back when I first got my car up by bear mountain and he couldn’t lose me and I’m probably a shit driver compared to him. The car was still new to me and he couldn’t build a lead during the curves.

It’s an insane car for the value hands down. Can make tremendous amount of power on the stock engine and it’s easy to make that power.

Great platform for the street: for the track not so much.

Yep, the Mach 1 is ultimately a GT350 with a good engine. I'm pretty sure it's faster around circuits too.

Since manual and fun seem to be your top priorities, I'd knock the RS3 off the list. As for the GT350, I was cross shopping one with my previous M2C; there's a reason Ford doesn't make them anymore. Since the C7 and GT350 are used, I would swap the G87 for an F87 Comp and you could pick one up soon instead of waiting on a G87 to be announced AND built. I have no experience with the C7, but my dad has a tuned C6 GS and it's fun, makes 420 wheel with some basic bolt ons. I wouldn't swap it for my F80 but it is a good time for sure. I'm just not a Corvette guy I guess.

This would be my list (in order) while incorporating your list:
Cadillac CT4V Blackwing
F87 M2 Comp
718 Cayman S or T
C7 GS or Z06
Mustang Mach1
Camaro ZL1

Obviously the CT4 has 4 doors and a backseat, but they're just so darn cool, it's at the top of my list. Cross shopped one with a used F80, almost bought one but dealer markups killed it for me. Also, 4 doors with 5 seats is very practical. I use my F80 to haul my mountain bike around, just pop the seats down and there is a TON of room.

Damn you going all out with your c8z? Lol

I’m just settling for the 1LZ. Torch red with black wheels and carbon flash bits. Best supercar for the price

I was going to go 1LZ + Z07 and track it out but the price point is too high for that use. I really like the blue leather + alcantara interiors that I've seen. As far as exterior, I have no clue what I want to do at the moment. The Miami Blueish color looks so good on the stingray but I'd get a contrast interior to the blue in that case. I want to see what new colors they introduce for the Z06.

Ah i gotcha. I am debating on white or rapid blue for my stingray but the z06 is definitely torch red.

I am a fan of that Miami blue type of color as well. But if I did that i would go with a black interior and I kinda want adrenaline red interior again like my c7z.

I had blade silver - very basic color but I loved it.

My favorite color, in general, for most cars is purple, especially an ultraviolet GT3RS. I'm not sure if it would work on a C8 but it'll be a strong consideration.

Your original post never mentioned budget. A used base C8 is still the best bang for the buck performance car bargain presently on the planet.

Hmmm not sure how well purple will work on a c8.

I think if I did an outrageous color it would be amplify orange. But I think that wow factor will wear off quickly and I’d regret it after a month or so lol

That color on wide body corvettes definitely.

Standard body eh, it’s a tough call.

I couldn’t do orange on the stingray. Although the c8z in that color looks amazing.

My only thing with the mustang (granted I haven't driven one) is that they "seem" so big. Sounds like Ford Has done an excellent job managing that size, but I just need to drive one.

So. You raise a good point. Here's why I haven't picked up an F87... CHS and from what I understand the manual examples need quite a bit work on the clutch delay, pedal feel, throw and notchiness... it's a tough pill to swallow to put that kind of money in such a focused sports car... that said, I don't plan to tune either off the bat, but piece of mind is worth "something" and my local buddy that used to be an M Tech and now owns his own BMW shop has quoted about 6k for the CHS job... once I buy an F87 and do some work to the shift components, CHS and pay 1-2% more on int. Rates, I'm probably above the G87 overall cost with a better motor and potentially better shift feel...

Also, F87 doesn't seem to be much of a bargain right now when you factor in the bump in used car interest rates.

From what i have heard, the G87 will share the much of the transmission components with the G80/G82 and those have seemed to get much better reviews.

I'm I in-line here?

I'll update. At the moment, 70 is the ceiling I'm willing yo spend on a weekend car. Frankly, I prefer to be closer to 65. From the sounds of it and using the current g80 configurator I'm around 68k assuming a 62,500 msrp for the manual.
Dealer has me in slot 3 at msrp.

So what are you buying?

GT350
'22 RS3
My 2 cents:
if you don't like big cars you won't like the C7 or GT350, I had a C7 and have driven a few mustangs and they feel big to someone who prefers a smallish car

RS3 doesn't come manual

so that leaves the G87 or the F87
the manual is not all that bad in the F87, porsche manuals are better but honestly it's one of the better bmw manuals out there
the f87 M2c is one helluva car, loads of fun
the g87 is going to be bigger and heavier and not look as good and the s58 won't have as much low end grunt
my vote is f87 M2c
