World Motor Sports Council meeting is critical to F1's future

Wednesday's meeting of the FIA's WMSC could define where F1 goes from here.
Cast Mosley aside - or provoke a split that could destroy Formula 1.

Mosley’s hope that FOTA’s breakaway threat isn’t serious at least appears more realistic than the prospects of FOTA’s eight teams being divided.
Bernie Ecclestone has said he is “not going to let things disintegrate." He hasn’t indicated which side of the divide he is going to come down on, but it would be a first for Ecclestone if he didn’t pick the one that is going to make him the most money.
FOTA is not seeking a break from F1 or even a break from the FIA - it wants Max Mosley replaced by someone they can trust.

FIA president Max Mosley has said he will not stand for re-election after claiming an agreement has been reached with Formula 1 teams to avoid a breakaway series.
Bernie Ecclestone and FOTA chairman Luca di Montezemolo held a series of meetings overnight and into the morning, prior to World Motor Sport Council meeting in Paris.
The FIA is expected to announce the official entry list for the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship Wednesday afternoon.
