Tesla Plaid to get Carbon Ceramic
This may make me want to complete my order. I've been on the fence on completing my order due to concerns on the brakes, but being I placed the order when fully loaded was only $126k(it'd be $147k now if same order was done) I may go ahead and add the brakes and take delivery.

Ask them to also glue all dashboard parts together.
Word on the street is that the whole dashboard starts rattling in about one month. |

If Porsche says their own Carbon brakes aren't meant for repeated track days... I am not sure if this would alleviate any concerns on the Plaid's brakes

They aren’t recommended for track days cause the replacement cost is so high, the cost / benefit of the additional stopping power doesn’t make sense. Most track guys I know that have cars with them (specifically porsche guys) see them as immediate take offs to be reinstalled before sale. I imagine that a model s will absolutely burn thru carbon ceramics given its weight

Not the Plaid that I know. Colleague at work has one and not a single rattle. Got an early one. We have a lowly Model Y Performance, since last Dec and that too is rattle free so far. Although the dash doesn't have much going on in the MY. LOL.

Tesla has to at some point put normal steering wheels on the S and X or they will remain niche of niche. I know people are upgrading their current X for other models because of it. Also, Tesla's current practice of only selling their most expensive models is going to hurt them (1 year wait for a non performance MY but 2 months if you want the performance)....people will start cancelling orders once other manufacturers can get their act together. JMHO.
$20K for ceramic brakes, when it is $6,500 on a Taycan...unless these are different. |

Do you think Porsche is taking the CCB off their cars to race them?

Why so much hate?
M5 CCB will cost you the same at the dealership as retrofit solution. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/34112317804/ Last edited by LOW4LYF; 11-26-2021 at 08:28 PM.. |
