Official Foodie Thread
figured I'd start a new thread since the other thread was getting punished with food.....
this is where you can post pictures of the food you're eating, any foodie run events you've been on or if you just want to let us know what the fuck you're about to smash during lunch or at the dinner table. pics will be awesome...... oh, and if you're at a real nice or premier steak house/seafood house, drop a link to their website or post up some of their accolades. here in Houston, the 4th biggest and fattest city in the nation, we LOVE our food.... i'll start...... went to Truluck's on Wednesday with a vendor: http://trulucks.com/pages/press had a blackened 10oz Pontchartrain Center Cut Filet with a crawfish, shrimp and blue crab Creole cream on top. the Lobster Bisque was amazing as well. not sure why you'd say that.
would be interesting to hear what is better in SD area, especially after press releases like this..... Truluck's La Jolla location is proud to have received the following awards from San Diego Magazine: Reader's Choice Winner: - Best of the Best - Best Seafood - Best Service - Best Wine List - Best Happy Hour |

I'm planning on trying Fogo next month while on a road trip. Nothing really good Around here so I'm not hard to impress.
How was it? Are they skimpy with the meat refills? |

Trulucks is a chain like Capital Grille, Texas de Brazil, Mortons, etc.
It's good food, but I wouldn't say it set the world on fire and I've had some "eh" meals there. Joes Stone Crab in South beach is awesome. So is Smith and Wollensky. |

now Capital Grille, there are tons of them all over the place, but it doesn't take away from their fine dining moniker... Quote:
it was great, but it wasn't even better than Vic and Anthony's... p.s. just so ya'll know, here in Houston, Truluck's and Capital Grille are LITERALLY across the street from each other. you could walk from one to the other by just crossing the street.... |

the last thing they are, is skimpy with the meat. if you leave that little card flipped to green, they will crush your soul with so much meat that you could get sick trust me, NO ONE leaves Fogo without feeling they need to be transported to the nearest hospital. definitely get your money's worth.... |

For anyone in the bay area I highly recommend Alexanders Steakhouse and Pampas Brazilian BBQ. Dont have any pics but they are both our go to places for family/friend birthday dinners
