Flippy 2. I will bet large amounts of money on the demise of the minimum wage fast-food worker. In 10 yrs the only people in the store will be the ones overseeing the robots. There will be very few of them, compared to the current workforce, and because they will actually have some skills they'll make more than minimum wage. The per-unit labor costs of a McD hamburger will be down 95%, regardless. |

Some people will point at McFlurry machines always being broken as an example of why automation will McFail in fast food. That is actually a corporate learning lesson, because Micky D's contracted for all of those machines without the right to have third-party vendors repair them. Plus, they apparently only have one per restaurant.....

Guys, entry level labour is going nowhere. Anywhere i look companies are SCREAMING for help, everyone is short it is ridiculous. You could add 20pc to wages tonight and still, business would operate, they will just raise prices.

CAT announced today and I heard the CEO being interviewed on CNBC. He specifically cited supply chain issues as both a problem in the current quarter, and the rest of the year, at least. Said they had seen no signs of the supply chain improving.
Meanwhile, negotiations between the ILWU and PMA continue.... |

OH... for some reason I had it in my head you were talking about a motorcycle.
Nice bike though... sounds like those supply constraints never eased up... I ordered a Giant bike back in early 2020 and at the time while inventory was wiped out, you could still get an ordered bike within a couple months at most.

Actaully, there is an electric-assist motor built into it. It won't go anywhere if you're not pedaling, but it adds to the power you put into it so hills and head winds aren't as much of a hassle.
