Overlord

Saw this Saturday night. Fantastic watch. Who else has seen it? For those of you on the fence about watching it, go see it. Definitely worth the trip to the theater to watch. I consider myself a decent movie critic. Easily one of my top 20 favorite films.

I liked the "Overlord" version in "Saving Private Ryan" better. Fucking intense first 14 minutes.

Indeed. The shot of the guy picking up limbs trying to find his arm always stuck with me.

This film is pre-Normandy by about 16 hours. They have a mission to complete in order for the beach to be stormed. The entire film is pretty intense. It takes a lot for me to jump because of a scene in a movie, I jumped several times during this one. There aren't very many movies that I instantly want to watch again, this was definitely one of them.

It's not a bad B-movie. I enjoyed watching it. I thought they could have done a little more with it though. The action and plot was decent... but I felt like I was watching a trailer for a movie rather than an actual movie. It's more gory and disgusting - not very scary.

It was a bad idea to bring the GF... she was disgusted by all the blood and guts.

This is where I'm lucky. The girlfriend loves gory movies and we both love B movies. The blockbusters are so damn plastic.

Yeah, like I said, I just feel like they needed to do more with it. It is definitely a war movie more than a scary movie. You could remove the whole zombie thing and it would be the same movie.

The trailer was misleading as it shows a lot of zombies and fighting but the actual movie had little of either.

Saw this with a few buddies last night. All in all a good flick. Opening scene was intense. Solid throughout. Interesting blend of War, Zombie and gore genres.

But like some others said I expected more Zombie action. But I will say the Zombie interpretation was very good. Zombie stuff has been so overdone as of late I thought they did a good job in the creativity department “Nazi Zombies”.

Anyhoo....if you like this kinda stuff it’s definitely worth seeing.
