On our way north to visit my mom's side of the family, we always stopped at Safeway in Yreka, CA. Last place we could buy Uncle Larry a couple of cases of Coors. Even then (14?), I couldn't stand the stuff. But Uncle Larry was always ecstatic, and took us fishing, so . . .

Back in the late 70's I got stationed at Ft. Campbell on the KY/TN border. First time I'd ever seen Coors in a store. I bought a 6-pack thinking I was finally going to get to enjoy this special beer I'd heard so much about. What a disappointment.

Yep! I sure do. Had one when I was 21. Got a speeding ticket first day about 30 minutes after I drove it off the lot.

Not an eagle, but a Phoenix. Reborn from fire, ergo a Firebird.

Yup. The struggle is real. It drives me crazy when I know the answer is up there somewhere, it's so close but I can't grasp it. I need to wait until the needle in my brain hits that spot on the record. Sometimes it takes longer than others.

The struggle is definitely real. The older I get the more fragmented my hard drive becomes.

You know you're old when you realize a well edited, feel good, tribute montage to 80s is forty year old material !! To put that time period into perspective; the second world war was 'only' forty years before the 80s.

My kids were born in the 80s so that is a very important and sentimental time for me. I'm nostalgic for 80s music and watch the MTV Classic channel a lot and it always take me back to that time when my kids were little. I think the best thing in my life is being a father.

She's not wrong.

PS - some of the 80s stuff is totally corny. It's where it takes me that counts.

I like all different types of music. I listen to the '60's, Blues, Motown, Disco, Soul, 70s rock, 80s, 90s grunge. I haven't heard anything newer than the 90s grunge that I would consider music.

Yes, I do think Zep is the greatest of all times.

I'm with you on all of the above (only some disco).

Variety is the spice of life when it comes to music.

Seeing the new Top Gun movie coming out 35 years after the original is a shock. Even more shocking is remembering that I was in the TV studio at work in 1987 when Top Gun was first released on VHS tape, and did some graphic overlays using the opening dog fight scene to demonstrate what by today's standards was very primitive digital frame-editing hardware.....

There it is. Lol.
Might as well throw in Berlin's "Take My Breath Away"

Watchin' every motion in my foolish lover's game
On this endless ocean, finally lovers know no shame
Turning and returning to some secret place inside
Watchin' in slow motion as you turn around and say
Take my breath away
Take my breath away

....
"Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire!"
