As I recall you and I are within a few months in age. We have a few good years left in us! 😁

This morning I woke up and heard a click from my knee as I got out of bed. I turned to the other half and said: "I'm not old I'm crispy."

I bought a 25-pound weighted blanket and duvet cover yesterday, because it will supposedly help me to sleep better. Let me tell you, it really works! I was so tired from lugging that 25-pound monster into the bedroom and unfolding it that I slept great, and this afternoon's (failed) attempt to wrestle that heavy beast into the duvet cover knocked me out for a two hour nap.

FWIW, I *still* have not actually used the blanket as a blanket yet.....

My wife sleeps with one of those weighted blankets. She really likes it.

My wife only sleeps if I set our wall AC/Heater to heater at 76 degrees.

I bought her a nice fleece blanket a couple of years ago. What did she do with it? She put it on the guest bed!

Meanwhile, I sweat! I mean WTF?!

I mentioned in another thread I control the thermostat at my house, and it stays at 70 all year round. Sometimes I might put the heat on in the winter but only if it gets really cold. My wife knows to use an extra blanket or put on a sweater if she gets too cold.

PS - if anyone thinks I'm a bully, I'm not. She gets her way with most things. The temp is one thing where I get my way, and that's just the way it is. Besides, she's always got me to keep her warm.

Mine unconsciously takes every single sheet/blanket on the bed and makes a cocoon out of them if she thinks it's cold...including my blanket. The 25-pound blanket is an experiment, to see if it also gets wrapped into the cocoon.

I did manage to get the thing stuffed into its duvet cover about an hour ago, after watching a half dozen YouTube tutorials until I found someone's technique that actually worked. After all of the wrestling, I'm convinced that "duvet" is a French joke word that means some type of chinese finger trap for us dumb Americans.....

My ex and his son used to cry like little girls that they were cold. And this is while they were walking around the house in shorts and T shirts. Stop your crying and put on a long sleeve shirt. It’s easier to warm up than cool off. I told them I would stab them if they touched the thermostat. Do not mess with a woman with hot flashes.

Definitely easier to warm up than cool off.

You would stab them - that's funny.

Can't say I know what the hot flashes are like, unless I've been going through them my whole life because it seems I'm always too warm.

Wife went through menopause but still always complained about being cold.

Considering ex was a cop and he had a gun, yes it was funny. And I was being gracious at 69 F. Now with no one to complain, I’m at 66 heat downstairs and 63 F upstairs at night. And I still kick the covers off and back on all night long.

When I had a functional heart, I thought the same thing. With weak circulation since the ticker packed it in, the blood is already cold by the time it reaches the extremities. I've gone from someone who used to attend Bills games in Buffalo in a jacket to the old person who has ice-cold feet wearing thermal socks in the house.

I refuse to buy electric socks or an electric blanket, because I'm not *that* old yet.....
