I have lease regrets

Anybody ever get into a lease and then regret it? Only had my 340 a short while but I just got a promotion at work yeah me but it requires me to drive double . So I feel like I’m in a bad spot I can afford the car definitely but wish I could go back about a month.

Oh well, bonus is now you get to drive it twice as much! Just put aside a bit to pay for mileage overage if you have any at lease end, or buy out the lease. If you really want out and want something more economical, you could put it up on lease swap or one of those sites.

No offense but these are things to plan for when leasing in case situations like yours arise.

Lease swap, get a beater for daily driving to work, or just pay the mileage overage if you have to. Nothing else you can really do.

fyi - you can buy extra miles before the lease is up at a discounted rate. You can do that practically right up to the day before the lease ends, so you know exactly how many miles to buy.

Are you reimbursed for the driving? Or are you saying your commute is just twice as long?

How many miles is it? Mileage overage isn't as bad as some people make it seem. Some people will literally drive a POS car if they go over mileage to save a couple hundred bucks while paying $700/month for their lease payment. How does that make any sense?

Unless you're going significantly over, just pay the mileage overage and enjoy your car. it'll still most likely be significantly cheaper than any other option you could take.

I'm intrigued. Got to ask what is the problem? If not affordability.

Surely double the miles will mean enjoying the 340i more than ever.

IMHO, the attractiveness of a lease depends upon many things. Benefits both ways. What works for one, doesn't for another. Leased our X3. M2C bought the traditional way. For me, I doubt we'll lease again, but thats just me. After studying our lease contract, it appears to me there is no inexpensive way out, but others are no doubt more knowledgeable on the topic.

This ! But it shouldn’t honestly make a difference.... if you’re perfectly fine spending $30,000 to drive a new car around for 36 months and walk away with nothing, then what’s another 5 grand ?

I dont understand the regret, what would you do differently, purchase it instead of lease? If so just buy it out? You do realize that the higher mileage you would pay for in the lease is the same as lower resell down the line if you owned it.

Find someone who wants to buy out your lease and lease or buy with different mileage

If you like the car it shouldn't matter. Just buy the extra miles before you turn it in. At least you didn't lease it and only put 7,500mi on it in three years. That is a complete waste of money and I never understand why people don't drive a leased car. You are paying for the depreciation, so depreciate the fuck out of it. Done.

So sell the car. Will having a BMW go over well with your clientele?

I don't understand leases or people that buy new for that matter. I don't care how successful I am, I'd never buy another high end vehicle new again. You hate money if you do imo

Wait 2-3 years, find low miles, finance, and drive cars for practically nothing if you're smart.

I buy new because I don't want to buy a ragged out 2-3 yr old lease turn-in which was just returned to stock tune.

I didn’t say abuse it, just put the miles on it and don’t worry. If it was a Honda Civic, then yes. Drive it to within an inch of it’s life.
