Indian Grand Prix

So as some of you may recall, they did a special (it was either Speed or BBC, I think) about the upcoming Indian Grand Prix next year. It looked pretty disastrous, but now, there's been some updates regarding track construction and progress. Take a look at the link - the video is old, but the pictures are new. It looks like things are on schedule!

UPDATE: New track Photos. Looks like we will be spared another Korean GP debacle, guys!

Korean GP looked exactly the same just weeks before the race.
India still has ten full months (Scheduled October 28-30), no worries.

The Korean GP was a disaster. From the weather to the track to the race. Hopefully it would be better next year

Yeah. Cause points leader Mark Webber crashing out in the race due to the weather, was definitely not exciting.

I dont remember it as a disaster per say, it was more of the more exciting race weekends out of the year. The delays sucked, cause it was 3am here so I was up all night but other than that, I thought it was a great event

Last Korean GP was hampered by rain, caused us unable to see "real speed racing" and will the track deliver exciting dry-racing.
On overall this year, some wet-dry or full wet races was quite exciting, or interesting.

Australian GP, CHinese GP, Korean GP...comes to mind...

Based on your posting skills, I'd say you're guaranteed to be rich enough real soon.

I wouldn't say that at all. Some aspects could have been better, but those bits are rarely seen on TV. The TV show was great as was the track. The weather wasn't that bad either, just a new surface combined with water made the water sheet on the surface more than usual leaving lots of spray.

^ the weather wasn't that bad? do I sense sarcasm?! more than half the race was behind the pace car! it was the worst race of the year. being behind schedule preparing for the race didn't help either IMO.

No sarcasm. I was there and the weather wasn't that bad. Track only had 5-6 small patches of standing water and none near the racing line. Problem was the surface was very smooth, so any water that felt stayed on the surface as it drained away, rather than sort of disappearing in the gravel of the asphalt. Therefore it caused terrible spray.

i own a shop, and generally there real good engines just check the oil in the super charger and also check the engine oil out real good basically the engines were good in these cars the most damage that occurred to them happened because they were neglected.

We will have a reasonably sophisticated ticketing system that will be very difficult to forge. There will be a turnstile system at every entrance, every ticket will be electronic. Security will be ramped up, it has to be..

I think this race won't happen, the track clearly isn't ready and F1 will not tolerate another Korean GP close call..

You do realize that the track surface is almost complete, and they still have SIX MONTHS till the race date, right?

Narain Karthikeyan made this quote:

"If we keep making the upgrades I am sure we will have a good car for the Indian GP (in October)."

I found this funny since by the time we are in October, I imagine most teams will have already started work on the next years car. HRT, too little too late.

+1

i.e. the targets are the Lotus and Williams 6 months later, where they will still be 6 months lagging in development. Or the leading teams, the pace of development is even faster.

oh wait, do they mean by Indian GP, they will be confident to qualify within 107%???
