the first picture is the original one. i dont know if your familiar with photoshop but changing colors is really easy.

i did the intakes by cutting around them, desaturating the color, then going to hue and saturation and checking the colorize box. then you jus slide the bars to get the color you want

Yeah, changing colors is very easy. Its kind of a pain selecting JUST the paint and not windows and such.

But google a DIY, there are plenty

you dont have to select the paint for the car. just try to use a picture of a car with a bright color not black or white. then you can just use the sampler and photoshop does the rest. and any mistakes can be fixed quickly with the history brush

i know how to change colors. i'm just talking about the intakes on the front. they were well done. some people chop them from other pics.

Those looking fantastic.... I have got to learn how to incorporate these editing skills. I am ashamed to have a SLR camera and not be able to enhance photos like this. Great job.

thanks. it's really not hard at all....just dl the trial lightroom program off adobe's site. there's a simplified editing portion that allows you to fix quite a bit very quickly.

Whenever I see the opportunity, I just have to hit it... with some Photomatix
Looks a bit overdone IMO. Might change it one day.

I like it.

I almost always wonder the same thing, when I go beyond "accurate" or "realistic". The effect is often very positive and striking and non-Photoshop people just see it as a beautiful image. In that context, I think it's fine. Still, if for instance, you Posterize everything, then it gets to be too much. Sometimes I'll put the basic image with moderate enhancements in a presentation, followed by the dramatic alteration, just for people to see.

Almost all of my images are altered to some degree, even if it's only what DxO's Optic Pro does in the RAW conversion. I keep all those base images as DNG (digital negatives) so that I can get back to them if I ever need to. When I really start to get carried away and I'm tempted to keep a seriously altered image, I'll put it in a separate file. That files starting to grow a lot and I'll soon need sub files, but that's what I'm doing now.

Dave

About DxO - is there a way to run RAW files through DxO and then do HDR to them?
