What was your favorite car?
I'm guessing that most of us here didn't land on a BMW straight out of high school. No offense if you did, but I'm curious. I think a lot of us have owned quite a few cars before the one(s) we have now. Out of all the cars you have owned, which one was your absolute favorite? If you had to pick one, which one is it?

Bought my first BMW my last day of high-school. It was a 1971 R50/5 motorcycle. Bought my first BMW car—a '69 1600-2—November of that same year as snow started to fall and the bike was less practical. Since then I've sold BMW, Jaguar, Porsche, and Audi for a living and have never wanted anything but a BMW as my own ride. My favorite right now is my 128i M-sport 6MT, but I own well over a dozen others, including six BMW bikes and six BMW convertibles from 1958 to 1987.

Pontiac, it was the my first car and my parents bought it for me. My mother picked out the color and body style.
At the time I don't think I realized how good the car was. |

No doubt that my current M2 is my favorite car. Sounds great and handles fantastic. I couldn’t be happier with a car.

My current m340i is my favorite so far. And I'm willing to bet my M3 on order will be my favorite when that arrives. I've fortunately had a pretty good progression of increasingly better cars as I've advanced in my career.

The M2 is actually my favorite car I've ever owned (overall). There have been others that I preferred to race, or thrash, or drive in inclement weather, etc, but the M2 takes the "if you could keep only one of the cars you've ever owned forever" award. I've had 12 total cars.

The G82 I have now is definitely the best overall car.
But as a teenager I had a late 70s Trans Am that I rebuild the engine, decked the block, milled and ported the heads, higher compression pistons, big cam, Holly double pumper with big tube Hooker headers. It went from about 18 mpg to under 10 but I loved it. A lot of good memories in that car. |

Most fun: tuned 135i
Second favorite: 72 Ventura 350 4 bolt 2 speed 4:56 gears. Ripping around in that at 19 was fun... |

All around best - 1990 Eagle Talon TSI or Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. turbo, all wheel drive, no traction control or ABS, simple intuitive controls, manual transmission. Still have one of each.

High school me participated in many a shenanigan with one of those as transportation!
For me I think it will always be my beloved '91 325i. Best. Car. Ever. Perfect car. Looked beautiful, EASY to work on and dead reliable. Built it up perfectly to my tastes. I made huge mistake and turned left in front of oncoming traffic I didn't see. Totaled it but walked away from a 30+ MPH head on collision. I think about that car a lot. |

2000 Toyota Corolla - reliable like hell with minimal maintenance, don’t care where to park it, don’t care about keeping it clean. And with proper suspension it’s not as bad on the road

I have very fond memories of this car:
But my favorite is the one I drive for fun now. I always knew I'd enjoy owning one but waited 30+ years before I finally plucked this one off the lot last year before they became scarce: |

Had one of these for 17 years. Very nice smooth refined car. Delicate but tough at the same time. A pure pleasure to drive. AC..cruise......leather.....sunroof....great handling.
An all round perfect car. Mine was black on black |
