Haven't watched this yet, but the 4 seconds I did see, this is one of the wildest cars I've seen on the show.

Thank you for posting.

I was looking for this video yesterday but forgot that the official release/air date was today.

Now, at the risk of being burned at the stake, I still think Marco's build (i.e., S65 1er) is how the BMW 1M should've been from the factory and this is still one of my favorite builds . Can't wait to watch this later.

I slacked on posting to the forums. We participated in the SuperStreet Show Car Shootout on motortrend a few months ago. We drove the car from San Francisco to Sema, Drove back to SF, then a week later, drove over night to Willow Springs, Did the shoot out and immediately drove home.

It seemed to me Mr Leno genuinely enjoyed your car. Wonder if anyone else who watched all his videos, sensed that admiration.
If I'm correct, that is very high praise.

he absolutely appreciated it. I wish we could have taken it on the track. Public roads really will never fully communicate the car's potential.

I'm curious how does it all go down at Mr. Leno's facility.
Do you get to small talk with him or meet any of his techs off camera? Did you get to browse any of the collection?
You came across composed and pretty relaxed, I thought you were a great BMW ambassador.

Thank you. I had no idea what to expect before showing up. They just invited me and gave me a time and location and we showed up.

His garage really is in two sections. He has a warehouse where he restores and maintains his cars. It is huge. Like a factory huge. High ceilings, lifts, and dozens of projects in various states. That shop also had a really nice full kitchen, pool table and hangout area. He even had a huge outdoor style BBQ and a giant hood for it.

The other warehouse houses his collection and really is more of a museum dedicated to his interests than anything else. All of the cars in his collection are spaced out and arranged so they can all drive in and out of the garage. He regularly drives and enjoys all his cars. It was awesome to tour around there and I actually found myself asking more questions about the artwork than the cars.

That was a solid watch indeed.
It must've been quite exciting to meet Jay and have him drive your car and praise it.

Really glad to see a BMW on the show and great to hear that Jay looks forward to more.

Great job once again Marco.

What a wonderful video this was. I don't know you, Marco, but man, I'm gonna give it to you, your build is truly mega! It's the definition of a truly proper motorcar. Congrats! I wish I had the mechanical know how and skill (and $$$) to be able to achieve something like this.

That was the most enjoyable car video I have seen in years and I just watched the "P1 vs. 918 vs. La Ferrari" Top Gear video the other day which was boring. Jay asks all the right questions as the fine connaisseur he is including on the tuning side of things, he is down to earth , interesting and genuinely passionated by the technical side of cars more so than the habitual youtube famed car reviewers. Furthermore he can say whatever he wants, whereas all those presenters on youtube are indirectly sponsored by the companies their cars they test and what the video will do for them rather than the car.

I think this car is no longer a 1M but 1M3. Awesome car !

What an incredible car.

BMW was really crazy not to put it out like this from the factory. The 1m is already a legend but with the v8 it would be a top 3 legend for them.

Congrats on getting onto jay Lenos garage.

That sound. The sound of your car.

Even though you didn't build the car for recognition it is nice to achieve this degree of acknowledgment.

I'm looking at my 1M and it looks quite vanilla in comparison - no small feat.
