Thanks for sharing! I did the factory tour last year when I picked up my car from PCD -- it was definitely awesome!

The factory tour is great and so is the off-road course!

Interesting that cars are tested up to 150 kmph at the factory.

Most in depth factory tour I've seen....although, the guy recording seemed to know more than the BMW associate.

It's more surprising seeing that they don't tie down these vehicles?

As a recent Clemson grad I've passed by there about a hundred times and taken the tour twice, it's a pretty amazing plant. Many Clemson students and grads actually get internships and full time positions there. Clemson also has a satellite campus specifically for automotive engineering called CUiCar that works closely with BMW on automotive research and development. One of my engineering professors actually helped BMW design the headlight enclosures for the X models, they were having problems with them over heating.

One day I'll get back there for a PCD.
And GO TIGERS!

Very cool video I wonder if they warm up the engine prior to flooring it to 150kph or if they just go for it cold? If they do go for it cold, then I wonder if it actually affects the engine long term

Great post, thanks for sharing. Just wondering: are X5M and X6M models also built there? Does this mean there are no European deliveries possible for those models?

Yes, the x5m and x6m are built in S.C. and neither are eligible for ED.
