Amen to that! What happened if there was a car full of kids from the lake coming around that blind corner? Could have resulted in man slaughter.

Keep it on the track gents.

Thanks for posting. As an insurance professional in AZ, I'll be forwarding this to his insurance company. And for those wondering, it has been settled.

And of course, entertaining youtube comments.
I sincerely hope he gets jail time, his license gets taken away and no one will insure him anymore on anything apart from a moped. F*cking idiots like that make my blood boil.

What he did is just as criminal as drunk driving.

Nice. What is it with people posting videos of themselves doing completely illegal things. I guess they want 5 minutes of Internet fame from the YouTube, Facebook generation. I'm sure the "friend" of the OP will appreciate the new found fame.

I originally saw this on autoblog yesterday. And of course, being a BMW enthusiast I knew it wouldn't take long to pop up here.

A note to people, any time you have a performance car and are involved in an accident and turn it in to insurance, don't post about it if you do something stupid. The first thing I do is look at car specific message boards because I know you'll be on there. It didn't take long to locate the auction & accident details on this car.

EDIT: and this can all be found publically with access to the correct sites. I'm not going to post any insurance specific info.

You mind forwarding these videos aswell since you have the hookup?
There's only 2,160,000 videos of similar nature

http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...be.SqOc1_c4FaA
That's pretty ignorant. There's also probably 10x that number that commit insurance fraud - should we avoid bringing criminal acts to the polices attention because its a common crime? lol wut

Yes, very serious. A guard rail on a twisty mountain road with what, a foot or two of shoulder, to keep innocent drivers from being forced off a CLIFF because some jackass wants to drive faster than he should or some other idiot can't wait to send a text isn't exactly the same as requiring people to wear a helmet. Bit of a leap there. I wasn't defending the jackass that went off a cliff.

This isn't a 3rd world country. Put up proper guardrails. Plenty of people need the work anyway.

Gotta agree with all the naysayers in this thread, but I won't vocalize to the extremities of some. Clearly he learned his lesson (not sure so much about the future implications of posting this video), but more importantly it exemplifies all the risks one takes when they do something reckless.

I hope I'm never in the oncoming traffic with inexperienced drivers like these on the road, regardless of what they drive.

Remove the guard rails and use the extra money to fix up the roads. If the jackasses can't keep it on the road, let them go over the edge. There will be less jackasses in the end.

The only issue I have, is this attitude that it was done "off hours" and somehow more responsible. What the fuck does that mean? That's about the time that we would be rounding the corner on our way to go fishing/hunting on many remote roads.
