Agreed. One of the most ridiculously over detailed rear ends on any vehicle I've seen in quite sometime. Quad exhausts, plus a rear diffuser, plus rear quarter panel side gills, plus a rear muffler ball sack, plus a rear bumper protrusion in addition to the front bumper beaver tooth grill. Today's Automotive Designers for BMW must be sniffing glue..

I really don't understand the fake diffusers on so many cars. It seems for a touch more they could make them functional and reduce drag and possibly add a tenth to highway mileage or something.

I would sign on the dotted line in a minute if they would commit to bringing it to North America. Rear end doesn't bother me at all. It's not perfect but it's only an eyesore for people that wanted to hate the car before they even saw it. RS6 Avant has the same rear bumper protrusion for example and there's no outrage about it.

I came across this vid only recently. It's fairly jam packed with comparison facts between the standard C8 and C8-Z06. The vid was made in November 2021 by Edmunds.

looks like pricing was announced. 3LZ + Z07 pack + carbon will push it to about 150k it seems. then you'll have some dealer ADMs on top of it possibly. pushing it to 170. Though you can still get the base 1LZ a little over 100k. the 1LZ looks most appealing to me. the engine is what sells the car and not the handling/braking/tech... which is probably still impressive even without all the z07 / carbon pack stuff. i wonder if people on the list will bail, or if base c8 prices will soften?

Whole lot of people complaining about the price. It’s $15-30k more than everyone expected, a loaded 3lz convertible could be like 170k and most people thought they’d top out around 130-140. The price combined with higher interest rates and lower stock market will cause a lot of people to drop out of their spots. I suspect discounts will be available within a year for ordered cars. Pretty sure I said that earlier in this thread and someone said I was nuts.
It’s one thing to finance $100k at 3%. When its $140k at 6% people start thinking twice. Lots of buyers thinking they’d drive it for a year or so then sell for a profit or MSRP and that ain’t gonna happen with these prices, so the dream will be dead for many. |

A loaded-out Z06 priced around $10k less than a stripper GT3 sounds completely appropriate… as does a stripper Z06 at $106k that's not far above a loaded-out M3C.

Disagree. People that can afford $150k usually can also afford $200k. Chevy is pricing this in used exotic territory and new 911S/GTS territory. It’s still a Chevy. The “value” just went out the window.

Even at 106k is still a bargain. Regardless of what people say about it’s just a Chevy. People thought this would be 90 or 95k. Inflation put this car at 106k
What other NA mid engine car with a dct that makes 670hp can you get for 106? I’ll wait. And before you guys start naming old ass exotic cars that are almost 10 years old with 20-30k+ miles with no idea if it’s past history, just think about that this is the LAST time you can get something like this. People think this car is 150k starting. You don’t have to load the car up with options. Especially if you actually want this car for what it is. The wide body and the engine. |
