How often do you reformat your computer
Just reformated my harddrive, reinstalled windows and all my programs. Took 2 hours. Nothing like a computer running free of all the junk.

I havent tried it. My exp is that each time that a new windows comes out, its well ahead of the hardware. Then after 2-3 years, it catches up. I like how fast xp runs, and it gets the job done for the internet, games and porn I need.

i can trim xp so lean that it runs at least twice as fast as vista would. i've had vista on my primary computer before for a couple months, but hated it...running XP again. vista ran soooo slow.

Vista SP1 has been out for awhile and as long as your hardware is fairly new, you won't have any problems.

yes! exactly! vista was well ahead of capabilities at the time. yes, it might have caught up by now, but i've got a great computer that does everything i need it to at a fast speed. i don't really feel like shelling out a couple to 3 grand to get a new computer capable of running vista when i've got this one that works great with xp. i can keep this thing running for weeks without the need of a reboot...that never happened in vista.

I reformat my hard drive at least twice a year. Also, I would take Windows XP over Vista any day. One of my favorite applications/utilities is Acronis True Image, IT RULES! I've created images for multiple computers, anytime I want a "fresh start" I just format the drive and restore the image, then run any needed updates/install new versions of plug-ins (Java, Flash, etc.). The system works flawlessly for me...
