Audi SQ7 exhaust note

Has anyone heard the exhaust note? Went down to local dealer for the service and saw it on the floor. My SA started and revved it and damn... never heard S version of Audi model sounding that good. I guess Audi is slowly making their way into the performance SUV realm.

It’s a good car, but I would take the X5 M50i instead.

I have the SQ8. Exhaust is beautiful stock. Engine is amazing as well. Like it 100x better than my m340i in regards to performance, comfort, interior, and dare might I even say handling. Absolutely amazing car. Also had it tuned and was able to get around an extra 70 hp out of it. I prefer it over the X5M

I could never buy one because of the stupid fake exhaust tips.

What are you questioning? His take on fake exhaust tips or the fact that many high-end manufacturers are and have been doing super fake exhaust tips for some time now? BMW keeping it real...

The fact that audi was doign that. I thought on the RS models they were at least routing pipes into the big ovals, but I was unaware those were completely fake. The ones on the BMWs where there's little round pipes inside of the big rectangle or whatever look bad too. THe audi should just have a full bumper if it has hidden pipes, don't make fake pipes just for the sake of fake pipes. Great, here's some extra weight for your vehicle!

The SQ8 actually competes with a X5 M550

The RS Q8 competes with the X5M

Good point. Edited.

Seems like the SQ7 has real pipes going into bigger tips.

Not sure where the pic was grabbed from...model/year/NA vs EU? But 100% confirm the exhaust on my SQ8 is fully functioning as intended

Not saying car makers don't do this on some models, but could that pic have been from a test mule or car show mock up? It isn't old school enough for a diesel model down turned exhaust...

Local tune. Numbers were limited by downpipes and the intercooler. Really hoping we start getting some aftermarket support, or hopefully ABT will drop engine management for SQ8 NA engine

I'd like a test ride of both sq7, sq8 and the x5 m50i. They all cost within a few thousand of each other in the way I'd trim them out and I'm curious what I'd pick.

there is also a V8 GLE580 which is weirdly not an AMG product. It’s a bit strange because the inline six GLE53 is AMG.

AMG in the sense that an M340i is an M. MB just makes it harder to tell a real, Affalterbach AMG from an AMG Lite.

It might be the SQ5 with a different bumper than stock. It has fake exhaust cutouts.

I agree but it’s no different then the fake vents all over cars these days. I can’t stand any of it. Same with the fake sound through the speakers. I love my M4, but the sound of any BMW or Audi compared to my Shelby is laughable.

I have zero interest in audi and will never buy one and though the q7 and sq7 look shit compared to x5 and x5m the q8 snd sq8 are pretty and miles ahead than the x6 and x6m .
