Always will have a soft spot for the Integra. Now Honda just needs to reskin it and bring back the Prelude...that would definitely be a car I'd buy in a heartbeat (fwd and all lol).

I had a DC2 LS on NAWZ lol, pretty fun little car. This new one looks great.

I guess it depends on the size, but any bets of whether it will be sub 3500 lbs?

I recall the 3rd gen was 2600-2700 lbs and 4th gen was around 2800 lbs.

I love the look. It makes sense. Just change the body on the Civic Type R.

I have such a huge soft spot for tegs. I hope they do a good job at this one and don't spoil what could be a cool little car.

I had a 3rd and 4th (RSX) gen back in the day. I have had enough disappointment from Acura (and Honda) since then to hold my expectations. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it's executed well.

I had a first Gen. Bet this one has a 4-cylinder turbo and automatic transmission with no manual offered. Just like every other manufacturer... New cars are boring smart phone emulators with aps, on wheels.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

IMO, Acura's coolest car (outside the original NSX) was the Vigor.

^ That's pretty much my suspicion, the engine is there, fitting it onto a 11th gen civic may show hope for a 11th gen civic coupe.

While you are not likely wrong, Honda still has the CTR show they can still make a world beating FF. The question is whether they are just going to fit the CTR drivetrain onto an 11th gen civic with a coupe body.

I had a couple of buddies rolling around with ITRs while we were in high school ('06-'07). Very cool cars.

Sadly, I'm sure this will just be a re-skinned Civic Type R. There've been tons of renderings floating around this week on IG, that do look pretty good.

I fear this could just be an exercise in marketing. At best it would be a re-bodied Civic Si or hopefully Civic Type R. The new Civic has no coupe variant so I expect the Integra to be a sedan only.

Maybe not, a few months ago an Acura coupe was spied on the streets. I definitely could see them making an Integra sedan though to replace the ILX.

I owned the 2nd generation Integra. One of the best cars I've ever driven. Integra's 4-cylinder engine was so far ahead of GM's "The Iron Duke" that the writing was on the wall: GM was about lose the small car segment to Honda and others.

Saturn - or GM's answer to small cars - was shut down in 2009.

I agree on it being a coupe, although if you search around most people seem to believe those spy shots are fake. Honda/Acura also said they aren't real, but who really knows.

They used drones to announce the return of the Integra last night. Based on that silhouette it's clearly a coupe.

A sleeker, 2-door Civic Type R that's as nice looking as the rendering in the article, and consider it done.

As someone already said, the Integra has always been a reskinned Civic so this would keep it within the same philosophy. And the CTR is by all accounts an excellent driver's car so I don't see what's not to like

My 2nd car was a 1995 Integra GS-R. I still miss that car.
