just to add:
  1. People who leave their phones in the locker room and constantly goes back into the locker to check calls/emails/texts
  2. People who are on their smartphone sitting in the middle of the bench in a crowded locker room while others are changing around him...seriously, do that ish outside

I laid foundations with years of gym work. Now it's mostly outdoor activities.
Plenty of body weight work at home (I can do quite a lot of gymnastic type upper body stuff) too.

Been a fitness/activity addict all my adult life.

Only way I can answer what you mentioned is with:
Exact same here!
Martial arts, Body building and then I discovered home,-out door body weight workout(after a real bad infection @ the gym)
All I can say is, if some would know about the potencial of calesthenic, they would stop doing bodybuilding.
Its unbelievable with bodybuilding I tried hard to isolate certain muscle areas. Even I was succesful with it, the imense amount of time at the gym ( now that I know better ) was literally wasted!
Today my workout is still intense and my body looks nowhere close to the body I had before in the gym! I gained alot of strength compared to my gym times and gained pounds on the right areas! It is unbelievable...when I think how hard I trained to get an nice trizep shape ( 3 different exercises ) and I still couldnt get it the way I wanted.
With body weight workout ( DMX ruff ryder anthem on ipod ) my workout is even more intense and my trizeps...never dreamed I would have such beautyful trizeps and calves!

1. Guys who drop dumbbells
2. Guys who take Italian showers then come to the gym (I'd rather breathe 1MOREMOD's protein farts all day long than smell these dudes)
3. Bad programming and bad form
4. I train at 5 AM and it annoys me when someone doesn't respect the one bench buffer. Don't sit next to me, dude. Especially if you've violated #2.

I'm guilty of being Asian but I don't bench the bar or 135. (To the dude annoyed at "Asian" dude hogging the bench using just the bar for 2 hours. I hate ANYONE who uses the bar for 2 hours on bench.)

Also guilty of possibly wearing residual cologne from earlier in the day.

Guilty of grunting on last couple reps or singles.

Guilty of talking about cycles once in a while. Guess what? Not many guys that are THAT big haven't run a cycle or two at some point.

Things that drive ME nuts at "global" or "commercial" gyms:

1. People whom refer to the gym as "global" or "commercial", cuz you probably crossfit

2. International chest day is Monday

3. Crossfitters

4. Old out of shape dudes wearing inappropriate shit like tight biker shorts or under armour

5. Crossfitters

6. Supersetters during peak hours at the gym whom don't let you work in

7. Crossfitters

8. People who grunt every rep

9. Crossfitters

10. Counting reps out loud

Thanks yall

That too. Try gently putting 180s down.

Seriously though. I'm a little bitch. I go max 120s. I don't mess with those real man Dumbbells - you know, those ones that are all plates? I don't even know what they're called.

Alright guys time for me to do a few sets with my shake weight. I'll scream each rep and throw it on the floor when I'm done.

the whole idea of "because I use 200lb weights" I cant gently put them back is so stupid...if you are strong enough to pick them up and not break everything around you while doing so, you should be able to put them down the same exact way...if you cant then its too much weight for your weak ass, if it hurts you to put them down gently then again its too much weight for your weak ass...

My gym has a funny sign on the mirrors near the weight rack.

"If you are having trouble putting the heavy weights away, please ask one of the girls at the front desk to assist you."

at first when I read it I thought it was funny, after reading it a few times I'm now wondering if it was done in a clever way...maybe this sign should be in all the gyms..."hey if you are too weak to put the weights back don't worry we will get one of our wimpiest female employees to do it for you"

It's not about RACKING the weights. It about dropping them after a set.
