Go England!
I'm sitting in a room full of yanks but I have to root for my team.
Good luck to both teams but slightly more luck to England

England's already up 1:0 within the first 5 minutes. I hope USA can answer back.

We just hope what happened to the Columbian Defender back in 1994 World Cup won't happen to Robert Green.
(To refresh your memory, he made an own goal and Columbia lost the game and not being able to advance through the groups, then the Columbian mafia or watever killed him when the team returned back to Bogota.)

Not so sure...did you see the goal we scored? Sure maybe England is overvalued at the moment but I don't consider us scoring 1 gimme goal vs. England scoring a legitimate goal due to absolutely horrid defending a victory for us...

I wrote that half tongue in cheek. That was a real lucky goal we got and I feel bad for the Brit keeper but it still boils down to a tie. England was very much favored to win outright so many will take that as a victory of sorts for USA. Lets see where they go from now.

Tell that to the English defense that nearly lost the game on the Josie run that almost resulted in a goal. Very easily could have been 2-1 late in the game. If that had happened green would have "mysteriously" disappeared from his hotel room.
I also have a hard time believing that cleat to the ribs of Howard was an "accident". They knew that the strongest point of our team was Howard and they could guarantee trouble for the US if he was out of the picture. |

Germany played their lederhosen off today!

And as a side note that cleat to the chest on Howard definitely wasn't an accident. Howard is team U.S. #1 asset, him along with Donovan, Onyewu, Altidore and Dempsey. |

And let's not forget that England is an excellent team. Quote:
Soccer (or football, whatever) isn't always hugs, teddy bears, roses, and faking injury.... There's a dirty side to it to, and that would include not giving up the chance to turn a clean challenge into an opportunity to take out the other team's best player. I know if I was in Heskey's shoes, I would have done the same thing, and would have been disappointed in myself that I didn't take him out of the game. |
