powerlifters?

just curious if there are other powerlifters here. ive competed a few times the most recently last december. i dont have huge numbers like some of my gym friends but it is still fun. PRs are 351 bench in shirt and 324 raw, 370 squat raw, and 434 dead raw.

When I was deployed i was pushing 315 on the bench. I dont really care for squats b/c it hurts my knees so i usually stuck with leg press and was up to 1010lbs and doin 405 on dead lift (with wraps b/c i have small hands).

Took a break before coming home but loved doing it. Other i've lifted with didnt like my style b/c i used power lifting techniques while they used something else. I'm 5'5" 175, not fat or shredded but stocky

Not a power lifter but I do lift.
I have been fighting injuries over the last year but am slowly getting back. Torn cartilage in wrist (recurring injury - clean and pulls).
Before injury I weighed in at 219lbs roughly 13%bf at 6'1"s.
Best bench was 315lbs (free) for 2.
Fun stuff.

Not competitively. But I pulled 500 at a weight of 204 this past august. No wraps/raw... just some chalk. Don't really back squat anymore due to injury.. but front squat. Don't really max bench. Hit 265x3 on incline in august. 185x4 standing press(highly recommend this one). Strict form.. no fuckin around on any of my lifts. I used to be a pretty serious thai boxer.. trained in Thailand etc. So have always geared my training for P4P and functional strength.

I never competed but had a strong pull a few years back. best gym lifts (raw) 465/585/335 squat/dead/bench.

Always hated benching, I stick to dumbbells. Now I'm a fitness/athletic type lifter (sellout lol). Fits my lifestyle better as I was always injuring myself.

Yup.

I recently started training with westside principles. It's been working pretty well for me. Better than and of the mainstream programs like 5/3/1. My gym lifts aren't awesome, but I've been making good strength gains.

They are competition worthy reps during my CrossFit 1 rep max sessions (ass to grass, bar on chest, etc). My bench to squat ratio is way off, I should be squatting more, working through knee issues.

Don't feel bad I have had my bench exceed my squat in competition before. So embarrassing. i can typically bench with guys that squat and dead 100lbs more than me.

Post a vid of your squat. I have knee issues as well, if my set is wrong 135lbs hurts like hell. Try a wider stance and sit back more if you aren't already that way the load is in your hips, not the knees.

By no means a power lifter, but I've been messing around with getting my numbers up higher the last 6 months. 6' ~185 pounds

Squat - 345
Deadlift - 405
Bench - 245
OHP - 135

These aren't true maxes, just the max that I have done. Could probably add 10-20ish pounds to each with a real 1 RM day.
