There was an old poor man who was unable to provide bread for his family. One day he met a devil who promised him if he were to give the devil his soul, he would grant the old man any wish he wanted.

The old man then agreed and gave up his soul to the devil. The devil then asked "What would you want?"

The old man said "I would like everything I touch to become gold so I can provide for my family."
The devil "I will grant you that everything you touch will become gold."

Not believing the devil, the old man then tried to touch the rocks around him. The rocks then suddenly became gold. He then touched the tree next to him and the tree did become gold. So happy then he hurried home to tell his family the good news. Upon he returning home, he then hugged his wife but before he could tell her, his wife turned to gold. He then touched his daughter, she also turned to gold. He then touched his son, his son also turned to gold. And everything he touched from then on would turn to gold.

33 years ago today I walked down the aisle and got married. Got divorced in2007. He died in 2014. I guess I would have been better off agreeing to lifetime alimony instead of paying him off upfront. This sounds so cold. Sorry.
